See I always thought 1st and 2nd Gen tacos had 4.10

 

They did. 1st gens not 2nd.

they all have different gears...or same?

where did you get 3.73 from?

 

I forgot about the 4 bangers when I changed to a v6. Poor guys.

I actually drove a 2nd gen DCSB when mine was in the shop one time. Man that thing sucked ass. Was all it could do to try and drive the speed limit on the highway. No power whatsoever.

 

I have 3.73 in mine. If I'm not mistaken it listed on your VIN which gears are in the truck.

 

Manuals have 4.10

 

how do I tell by VIN?

 

All 6 lug v6 2nd gens come with 3.73
5 luggerd have a wide array from like 3.38 (or something pretty tall) to 4.10

3rd gen v6 has the 3.90

 

One of the numbers in it identifies it.

Technically speaking he prolly has 3 ODS now. With stock tire 4th is 1:1 so anything larger make that of and goin 6 inches over stock I would say 3rd is getting close

 

Steering I could see being an issue

Beefy rod with heim joints is the way to go on IFS. Just very touchy.
