Did you make your brackets for mounting those fans? That is a very clean setup.

So update on this, with employee pricing the tsb parts kit is $512.00

Also another thing to consider, since our trucks have an extra rad in the front. Should we not be adjusting our fan clutch to compensate? Either by swapping in thicker fluid or changing the engauge temp?

I wouldn't think it would need to be changed. If you have the pink clutch then that's the one that comes with the tow package....and supposedly is the heavier duty clutch

I think pink is the only ome that came on the trucks. Also I had to upgrade my radiator because in the summer months my truck would run hotter than it should. New rad keeps things much more managable.
I wish trd made a heavy duty fan clutch like they did for the 1st gens, sadly the 2nd gen gets no love.

My tacoma (2015 Silver DoubleCab) is always parked in the Sun (Houston). I have a cheap front windshield reflective screen, and then the AVS window vents so I keep the windows cracked a bit. I get in the truck after work and it's not too bad. I have noticed we have a Micky Mouse AC system.

Color has a lot to do with it I'm sure.

I was curious if we could just pull the dash and wrap all the AC duct work in some sort of foil/AC duct tape or some other type of Insulation. That way as the insulation cools, the air continues to cool faster as it passes through. I don't have a long commute home, but My truck gets cool pretty fast.

I'm pretty sure pink is only with the tow package. But I could be wrong

So from my research, the 07+ Tundra and the 13+ avalon, camry, highlander, and venza to the aftermarket use the same exact part # even though the Toyota part #s are different for the tundra.

Also the plug type for those and the Sienna/Sequoia are the same plug type. It uses a 3 pin and the tacoma uses a 2 pin.

I cannot find an aftermarket blower for the 16+ tacoma, but I assume it uses a similar 3 plug style. It seems toyota switched to that style some time ago. I’ve tried looking at older model years of the above, and while they use the 2 pin style connector, they all seem to have different plugs.

I am probably going to subscribe to TIS for a few days and see if I can find what is the deal with the 3rd pin, maybe our blower can be converted. I will keep you all updated on my research.

yes they are just on off switch. one of those air on board switches with a fan image with relays . one switch two relays one for each fan. one 3amp fuse for switch and each fan has 15amp fuse. they have been on there for almost 4 years no issues. have had them on my 80series for 10 yrs no issues . there pushers so they just spin freely when I move forward.

if you wrap aluminum foil around your new foam it will work even better. 3-4 layers

The third pin may be for automatic climate control. I wonder if the plugs will still physically connect just not using the third pin. It's probably a reference pin for the auto climate control so wouldnt br needed or used for us.

Traveled all day yesterday and just got home but here is my take on all that's been talked about so far.

    1. My fan blows hard enough but its weird. Low is low, next is barely any higher, third is a little higher, then high blows really well. I would like more progressive settings but it's not a killer for me. I also have a k&n cabin filter which works well but I dont know if it actually flows more air than the stock filter.

    2. Yes a warm intercooler in front of the condenser will obviously cause some extra heat and restriction so better airflow is required IF you have a/c cooling issues.

    3. My a/c has shut off when I was idling for 30mins in 105° temps. It was when I was getting my initial UCON tune done so I couldn't shut off the truck and couldn't rev it or anything since Scott was actively manipulating the tune.

    3. @loginfailed and myself have some experience now with our clutch fans and they work better than stock. I drained the stock fluid and added 50ml of 10k csf silicone fluid. It locks up much better at idle blowing significantly more air and the a/c is now much better at idle. It definitely sucks some power though as you can feel it in stop and go traffic when hot outside.

    4. I am planning an electric fan install using an Autocoolguy fan controller and a mid 90's Ford Thunderbird fan. $70 from Rockauto. My plan is to fit it in a DJ cruiser shroud.

Get an electric fan and use it when stopped. I can tell a differance on the trail and traffic
