I only put about 21,000 miles on it the two years I’ve had it. I got it at 75k, it’s at 96k now.

I’ve never had a huge commute, or need to drive far to get anywhere. Everything you can ever need is always just a couple minutes away. My school was a six mile roundtrio from my house everyday.

67k on my baby at the moment...at this rate though I'll be at 100k in less than 2 years.

Been thinking I need to get my timing belt done soon though, even though I'm not at 90k...with the previous owner my truck sat (garaged) for very long periods of time.

I don’t like the 3RZ in general, but the only thing it got right was implementing a Timing Chain. Never have to replace it as long as it functions properly.

My truck has never given me an issue. The only glaring issue is the point job, 20 years in the California sun did numbers on the clear cost.

wow - 67k is nada! Was just looking at your build page. Hell of a find to be sure, especially hat you paid for it. nice!

For me, I guess 156k in 16 years isn't that bad...

I think I was on that thread for lowest mileage trucks when I first came on here. I had one of the oldest trucks with the lowest mileage.

Makes sense. My father never had a long commute either - his work was similarly a six mile round trip in the same city.

There's really no reason not to like the 3RZ, it's very reliable, simple as can be, runs generally cooler than the 5VZ. The only thing it doesn't have is the 40 extra horses the 5VZ does. Yours got nerfed with an auto, an auto known to steal 32% of the power put through it just to operate itself. The 5VZ has those ponies to give up but you put two truck with the same gearing and tires but one a manual 3RZ and one an auto 5VZ you'll see the a340 is stealing a lot from the 5vz too. The a340 is pretty robust for a small SUV and light truck trans but it is very inefficient. Ends up turning a lot of your horsepower into heat.

Oh it’s a good engine, don’t get me wrong. I’m just young and dumb and like horsepower and speed better.

You're in the wrong catagory of Toyota vehicles then, even a powerful taco is slow compared to something like a mildly build 80s sports car.

Definitely. But I’m stuck with it, so until I have money to get like an FRS or something I’m just going to build up this truck.

Just get into wheeling and exploring, then you have a use for the truck, something that it'll be good at. Plus FRS are dirt cheap now that the market is saturated, you could probably afford one as it.

That’s the plan, make it into an overlanding rig. I plan on keeping this my DD as long as I can afford it. It’s a good truck.

I have the Civic if that fails.

Here is my handiwork on the 2015 Nissan 370Z. My friend was leaving an underground parking garage when he clipped a concrete pillar on his way out.

Nissan wanted almost $1,000 for that passenger side mirror to be replaced. Ridiculous. And my friend was about to pay them. Nissan wanted $200 in labor for a job that took me 5 minutes.

I found a place in Houston on car-part.com and shipped me a good one with the same paint code for $75.

    Before:

    C4757F91-23E2-48EF-A937-EEC3BC9B5DF3.jpg

    After:

    A07D88E6-295D-47BD-9A3A-4AD8606F9122.jpg

Next up, the cabin air filter and the engine air filters. The 3.7l v6 has two air intakes.

The A/C smells musty and disgusting. I’m pretty sure it’s that old cabin air filter causing it.
