Hey Ozzy, I'm in North County. I don't like to go out when the sets are bigger than 4 feet, but if smaller than that I'll gladly paddle out with you anytime you want to go!

He's looking for someone that can give him a few pointers since he's new to the sport. I'm sure he would appreciate any tips you can provide.

 

I get back first week of September and I won't be going back to work until sometime in November. I got nothing but time lol I really appreciate you reaching out and offering to help me learn . I already have a wet suit and wife just picked a board up for me yesterday. I'll tag you in the posts on the surfing thread.

I'm down to drive to you in SD. You're doing me the solid of helping me out. Besides I love SD. My wife and I always stay in Coronado at North Island for weekend get aways. Besides you probably know the good spots to surf down there.

 

Back in '08 our neighbor (and veterinarian to our Golden Retriever) got "et" by a great white in Solana Beach. He was training for a triathlon and was lagging behind the other two guys he was training with. Shark pegged him as the weak link and took a big bite out of him. Sadly, he did not survive.

 

I got saved by a life guard once a long time ago when I was in HS. Most embarassing moment ever lol

 

1) Paddle like a mother fucker and 2) don’t take another bro’s wave.

Surfed most of my life (since 8 yrs old). Never had to get rescued but got the shit scared out me me many times. Mostly from getting caught inside by a huge set when the waves were overhead. Fucking terrifying when you get pounded and can't get back up for a breath.

Edit: Let myself go for the past several years (read "fat guy") so I would probably die of a heart attack if I went out in those kind of waves now.

 

I was in HS I didn't know anything, I thought the guy was wierd kept asking me for my address and phone number. Later on I realized he was just making sure I was congnative. I stayed in the car the rest of the day until we went home lol
