Thanks for checking. It does with both stock and OV tune. However the original video I posted of accelerating noise is only on tune. I went back to stock today and confirmed it wasn't there. I want to try 1.04a just need to know how to get the file.

Mine does this under heavy load, with hard acceleration and gets pretty bad when you are above 8000 ft of elevation trying to pull a grade on the 1.04 91 tune. It was worse on the 1.03 tune variations to the point I was running the 87 tune with 93 octane in the tank. I did have some fuel quality issues in my local area which are now resolved that made this worse but the issue has yet to go away completely.

Thanks for sharing. I live at sea level and like you, it is especially noticeable in the 1.03 tunes under hard acceleration. I've been running 91oct since I got the truck last year. Do you know what the noise is? Knocking? Hoping it's nothing to be concerned of. Am on stock tune until further.

I actually hear a quick sucking off air for a split second just before the engine revs. I noticed this is more pronounced since I installed my CAI.

The noise to me is either ignition break up or a pre ignition knock. As for me I am still tuned but if I hear it I lift off the throttle till it goes away and continue on. I do know it is not there on stock tune on my truck.

Knock doesn't sound like scraping it sounds like metallic clanking, like metal bouncing around in the engine. Very easy to hear on these engines.

Thanks for clarifying, would you be able to let us know what that sound we are experiencing under hard acceleration or load on the tunes? Just want to make sure it’s nothing to worry about.

I would need a log, or video or something to determine what it is you guys are experiencing.

The clattering sound in the video posted above by @orangeracer is what I am hearing. Truck does it at random when under load ect.

couldn't hear it on my phone but now I can hear it. It may be knock, difficult to hear clearly. But it definitely should not be knocking that audibly on the 91 unless you put in the worst gas imaginable or running 91 tune on 87.

The other video free revving does not sound like knock or anything. Could likely be the noise from the VVT, the engine switches right over to atkinson above idle unless you're in high load.

I’m running 93 -91 octane in mine with 4oz of Lucas fuel additive in every tank religiously to reduce this. Didn’t make any difference where I got fuel on our 3k mile trip from TX to CO last week it would do this. The higher in elevation I got the more often it would occur.

Mine is an 11b on the 1.04 91 tune.

The ecm does not seem to be pulling timing when this occurs either. It will do it as long as it is in a high load or you are on the throttle.

It was worse on all the 1.03 91 variants.
Ran 91 fuel on 87 tune with those.

    1.04A Releasd may 9th, or older 1.04?

Have you tested to see if it occurs on the 87 tune

As far as I know the May 9th.

No I have not tried 87 tune. For local fuel quality reasons. Too much ethanol added here.

Okay I would recommend flash to the 87 and see if the issue persists and then I will absolutely need some logs to see why it is happening and why the ECU is not correcting, it should absolutely correct for it if it's knock.

In the future for everyone reading, if you experience anything out of the ordinary please let me know right away so I can investigate.
