Haha. No way. I made that out of an in laws garage. Drill, router, miter, and hand planer were pretty much all the tools I had at the time. But no way would I still be allowed to live here if I turned any of those tools on in here.

Got the keys to the house and wasted no time. Scraped ceilings throughout and then removed the carpet/pad. Tore down the sheetrock between the living room and dining/kitchen to prepare to open it up. Had to pull up the kitchen floor as it was on 1/2" underlayment then two layers of vinyl. Removed all the staples and now moving on to doors and sheetrock.

Also removed the cabinet doors since photo as well as the dishwasher and the sub-floor below it.

also went to buy my can lights and the fixtures. Caught a killer deal on the lights. Was marked down from $15 each to $5. So i loaded 24 in my cart. I check out and the total doesnt make sense so i ask to see the line item list and they had the bulbs on super sale from $0.01/ea. I went back and grabbed the last 7 just because.

Had a bit of ipe left over form the deck. Turning into a table for the customer.

Glued up with west epoxy. Was not a fun glue up. I have epoxy in my beard

Beard in the epoxy shouldn’t happen. But when it does, it doesn’t prove to be a good time. Looks like it might end up cool though!

I'm I mess when I get into something.

Going for trestle style legs, gentle curves and brass screws in the top. Waterfront house so I'm using a chriscraft as my inspiration

Trestle legs, does that include a bit of joinery? Or is everything going to be screwed together? I am really interested in not using screws for a lot of work, but I haven’t had any time to mess around with it. I have an apartment to furnish and a wife that is waiting.

    Two kids.
I've spent the last couple weeks working on remodeling our bathrooms ... more of a heavy redecoration than a remodel. I took this after a dust shower. The master bath had been painted with a couple different colors of semigloss paint that left a bit of texture and brush strokes on the walls. I tried my hand at skim coating them so the new satin finish paint would be smooth. This skim coat came out good ... I can't say the same for some of the larger patches. Much respect for drywall guys!

I'll post before and after when I get the final touches done. For now, here's a pic while sanding the skim coat. Dust. Everywhere.

Is that "resistance coil" a lifetime thing?
My oven's coil has gone bad a few time. Curious
Would be nuts to have to hammer into the floor to fix anything haha

Yeah, trimmed off the ends to remove the roundover, and cut a new larger groove for some ipe splines.

I'm leaning towards traditional joinery since this will be outside but not in the rain or snow. Ipe is just a real pain in the ass to work with.

What are the chances of the heating wire going bad and having to fix it once the concrete is poured?

    Workin' on it....

Is that an engineered beam in the last pic or just cased a section of the former wall for a bit of room division?
