Anyone know the dealer cost for the $299 MSRP carpeted floor mats for the 2010 Tacoma Doublecab TRD?

There's a good chance I'd be willing to part with mine for a decent price...

When I was working with a dealer in Charlotte, he was "trying to get the price down" but he couldn't just take the mats off even though I didn't want them. He told me I was only gonna be paying around $80-85 for them. So that may be close to their cost....

I'm not sure I want them. The truck I'm looking to buy has an MSRP that doesn't include mats, but the dealer included mats in the price quote. Just wondering how much less the quote would be if we excluded the mats? If it's only $80-85, I may just keep them.

MSRP on Toyota's website are $141. With the door sill guards they are $199. You need to buy a Consumer Reports buyer's guide for $15. Buy and download in 2 minutes. It will tell you cost and MSRP for every possible option.

Do you have the window sticker for the truck? If so, look for them in the options. All of the salesmen told me that they couldn't modify the window sticker (makes sense). The truck I eventually bought didn't include them and I actually didn't get any mats at all with them. My Weathertech's should be here Wednesday though :D. If you do have to get them and want to replace them anyways I would just sell them after the fact. FYI: If you want to get Weathertech's they are taking a while to ship so take that into account.

Carpeted Mats - PV50 are $299 MSRP in the Southeast. I think it varies by region.

Window stick doesn't include them... they were adding them in on their quote to compare apples to apples on a price from another dealer. I don't think there will be an issue to exclude them... could be wrong.

Ultimately, I wouldn't get too hung up on the mats. You can always sell them later. Just go with the guy who has the truck you want for the best price. I went through four dealers and am thrilled with how it turned out. BTW, what dealers are you talking too?

I noticed you posted a while back that you bought your truck for $29K OTD. Where did you buy your truck? Would you recommend the dealership?

    MSRP doesn't equal Dealer Cost.

There are three different versions of double cab carpeted floormats.

Dealer cost is variable depending upon

    A) Which model floormat you're looking at
    B) What region you are in (Gulf States and SE Toyota have slightly different pricing because of their distributorship arrangements)
    C) Whether or not they are included in an options package

This is what I got for you, all prices are dealer invoice for that accessory:

    PW5 - 82.50
    PV5 - 82.50
    PX5 - 88.00
    WT - 99.00
    TW2 - 110.00
CF (in Gulf States and SE region only) - 126.50

MSRP price for these is 119.00 to 199.00 depending on which model. If the dealer is quoting you 299.00 they're padding their pockets more. Fair profit on the 126.50 set is $150.00 (that's actually a little more than fair profit), and that's GENEROUS profit on any of the other sets.

Tell them $150.00 firm on the floormats or they lose the sale. They'll bend.

I got it from Milton Ruben Toyota in Augusta, GA. The internet salesman, Wayne Bumpus, was awesome and made the process extremely easy (as it should be when you spend this kind of money, imo). They even drove it up here for me (only $180 from Augusta to just outside Charlotte) and signed the papers in my driveway. I would definitely recommend them. Even with the delivery charge I was still saving almost $1000 off the next best price in the Charlotte/Concord area. Of course, the reason I needed to check so many places was because I was trying to find a Pyrite Mica TRD Sport and they are hard to come by. Best of luck.

not sure what the dealer actually pays; you can get a pretty good deal on them. a lot of people do not want the mats b/c they usually buy after market thus the dealers usually wants to sell them to you for cheap. the vehicle I was originally asking about didn't have mats, but the dealer actually had a buyer for it. so, he found me another vehicle exactly like it with mats. He ended up giving me the mats for like 70 bucks.

The TRD ones are much better quality than the cheap crap that came in my truck. I only used them long enough for my WeatherTechs to come in the mail. I can't believe they charge money for the damned things.
