Manuals in a truck suck period. I’ve owned jeeps in the past and wheeled autos and manuals. I was young and had to have the cool factor of a 5 speed. Did a full swap. Next wheeling trip out I instantely regretted the manual. I’ll never own a manual truck again. A car maybe. Remember autos win races manuals impress high school girls

Really you could take a sr 4x4 v6 model and add mods for off roading. You could get a lift, bigger tires rims, and better suspension then off road models imo. You would still save money because I am seeing the sr models 4x4 around 26k in my area brand new. You could throw up to 5k in mods for off road and it would be higher quality then any trd off road. That would be 31k to 32k give or take. If tech is what your after then the off road or sport would be better choice. However you can add your own tech GPS ect... with that 5k just a thought.

Thank you! That’s cool to hear. It can be quite hard at times living well within your means. I’ve pushed my limits and sometimes you need to get ahead but it’s no way to live.

I got an optionless '18 DCSB SR5 due to wanting to save some $$ and got a remarkable deal on a lease. I ended up just being a little disenchanted with some electrical issues it had right away, an odd feeling brake pedal and just overall blah of the truck. I soon realized in my old age I wanted some bells and whistles plus a DCLB so I haggled for 3 weeks and got a great deal on my new Cement TRDOF DCLB w/ tech and premium packages.

The end justified the mean. I took 1st place at this year’s Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee. I buzzed an 11.31, 2nd buzzed an 11.34, and 3rd buzzed an 11.60

All that “extra money” that would have gone for an OR did me good and proper. And I still feel the 3rd Gen traction control is good enough for me.

Looking forward to North Fork this Sunday for some more positive means and ends.
