Good info thank you! Still, it feels like I’m seeing pics of chewed up gears recently on insta. I’ll follow up with those guys and see what I can learn. Would love to regear since it sounds like it helps the engine behave more like what I’m after

@alex.busta has wrecked a couple. Guess I assumed they were regears(?) but I really don’t know. Seen a few others but they were just stories so gone now.

Forgive my ignorance I’m new to this... does regearing to 4.88 put more or less stress on the teeth?

Wonder if it was because he used an aftermarket locker on the smaller 8" axle?

Best thing I've done in the 6 months I've been running 8112/8100s? Added 650lb coils, cranked them up to the max recommended setting, and ditched my sway bar. It needed to be done because I added a bumper and winch, but boy I didn't think this truck could ride any better, but it does!

Nice, I eventually want to do this. I will be adding a winch and bumper soon. I am assuming that they are 14" coil springs. Are they Eibach springs you added?

    These shocks look great.
Strongly debating selling my Fox set up just because.
No complaints on Fox, these just look too juicy.

I didnt read the whole thread...but looks like stock springs are being swapped out to taller springs. Did the original spring require too much preload? I dont do bumpers and add ons so hoping the stock spring will suffice.

Not taller springs, spring with a heavier spring rate. The springs that come on the 8112s are absolutely fine if you're not adding a bumper or winch.

How are you running 8100s when they only allow for 0”-1.5” lift?

I bought mine off race consulting agency, got them in two days. I work at Avondale Toyota in accessory sales and I couldn't get this price on them... So i called race consulting agency and i was like HOW they just said we sell A LOT of Bilstein. so screw it i went with it and I'm extremely satisfied

Seems fine... everyone I checked with (deaver, headstrong, install shop) gave the thumbs up but let’s check in with Marie:

@HeadStrong Off-Road should I be worried about my deaver u402 stage 1 / Bilstein 8100 combo? Seems a little rear high but ride feels fine(?). Thx!

I am really debating between these or a set of ADS 2.5 Res w/ clickers up front and ADS 2.5 Triple Bypass on rears... however the cheapest I can find the ADS set would be a $400 premium OVER how much I can get the 8112+8100 combo. Anyone have experience with both?
