Heard that unplugging the battery for a few mins and then drive it a few trips would make it relearn?

But now, after my fishing trip, i may put the money toward something else haha not sure yet. But want headers:spending:

Kinda the vehicle is always adjusting itself based on input data from sensors like the O2, IAT, MAF etc. The relearn that disconnecting the battery does is the systems trips as they are called and that just goes through and checks to make sure there isn't a problem within that system. But on some newer vehicles the batt. has to be disconnected for hours sometimes even up to 24hrs for it to completely "forget". Also when it is going through those checks certain driving parameters have to be met to get them to trigger.

When I talk about a relearn after adding lets say a CAI the MAF senses more air and possibly colder denser air so then it learns this as a common factor after it gets feedback from the primary O2 sensors about how lean or rich the truck is running and will adjust the fuel trims to compensate and not allow the CAI to be used to it's full potential. When you tune it you essentially are wiping these compensation equations and forcing the ECU to do whatever fuel trims, timing, etc. that you write it to do. Now this explanation is very layman and I cannot stress that enough there is a lot more to it than that.

Idk if it’s going to stay or not. I’ll have to see when I get the camper back but sure does tuck it up out of the way. The concern would be that now the plug and harness for the camper will be hanging down where they can get hit. I deffinately appreciate the good deal though and wish you good luck with finding something new

I bought the Ultragauge that works with your Smartphone. It is just the OBD2 unit and transmits by Bluetooth to an app on my phone. According to it, I got 20mpg on my trip to Atlanta two weeks ago. (Hard to believe).

I wonder if it takes into consideration oversized (non-stock) tires.

    A thing or two...
You need to calibrate the UG if you want it to be accurate with bigger tires and/or different gearing. Otherwise, it's just using whatever data to ECU is reporting to it.

Nice, very nice. I need to do this mod too. Want to keep an eye on my transmission temps. Instead of hoping for blind luck lol

I got just a Bluetooth code reader and then downloaded the torque pro app been messing with it but so far I really like it. It is a good under $20 alternative to the ultragauge.

I bet it is. If you put that in a phone mount it probably does the same thing. I’ve got to look into how you calibrate this as others have said. It worked pretty good on the trip I guess. It said I averaged 15.6-15.9 mpg. The cb worked today pretty good but I need to go to a wide open space and calibrate it again. I was afraid d the volume wouldn’t be enough but it was more than enough
