That sucks. Seems like quality control is very hit and miss with these.

Sorry to hear that....my first set of P265/70r17 Wildpeaks (sold these custom wheels and tires to a bud after 4K miles) was smooth as glass and didn’t require much weight to balance. The one bad tire I have now in this set had 9oz of weight but they were able to get that to 6oz with a road force balance. I’m not sure what the road force #’s were on that tire but the rep ordered a new tire as soon as they road force balanced it...definitely had to mount it on rear and still have a vibration above 73mph.
I screwed up and waited too long to get a free replacement tire from discount. Only have 3700 miles on this set. Ill just put up with the vibes until I wear this set out. I don’t do a lot of >73 mph cruising so I’ll just deal with the vibes until I replace these. Yeah I can go purchase certs or prorate fee and get a replacement but man I’m tired of screwing with this and tired of my expensive powder coated wheels being handled and put on balancers.

I should of stood my ground when I first got these mounted and noticed 9oz of weight on that one tire/wheel. Way too much weight and something is wrong with that tire...especially on a Toyota (4runner or Tacoma). I did question the tech and he said go drive it and see. Brought it back and he rebalanced it and got the weigh down to 8.5oz....again said go drive it...took it back later and road force got it to 6oz...still has vibes.
My bad and I’ll stand my ground and demand a new tire right away if that happens again.

Don’t let a tire dealer tell you that 9oz of weight is acceptable...I think even 4-5oz is pushing it on Tacomas and 4runners. Ask for a new replacement tire ASAP. Our Tacomas and 4runners are obviously sensitive to needing round tires....round as in not needing a crap load of weight to balance.

I work on Mercedes as a tech for a living & should have known better myself the minute I saw the high roadforce numbers. Should have sent them back to DTD right away. My fault on waiting. I have realized these trucks indeed are very sensitive to tires & offset on wheels. I think these tires are just manufactured with a large variance in quality. You win some & you lose some. I just want a steering wheel that does not vibrate at anything over 60 mph. What makes it worse is my commute is 15 miles of interstate driving. I hate my truck currently because of these tires.

Update after 9k miles: Still love the tires, very low road noise (if any) and overall satisfied. They have performed excellent in the rain and dirt/light mud, no snow or ice driving. Tread depth is now 12, 11, 11, 10.5

When I got mine, I measured them at around 13 or so. I too thought they were supposed to be at 14. I need to measure mine again. I only have maybe 1000 miles on them.

Check out the Coopers... zero wobble/shake and extremely smooth and according to my tire shop were very easy to balance. Specs at least as good as the Falkens and the new sidewall design is not boring by any means.

I have around 500 miles on my FWPs and have no complaints. Smooth ride, quiet, great mud and wet traction.

I ordered four P245/75-16 from your eBay store. To bad I missed the sale. I wanted to get 265/75 but decided 5lbs per tire would hurt my MPGs.

Finally got a chance to take these on the highway, they ride well and are quiet for the type of tread.

But I did get the tpms warning light and none of my pressures are reading on the psi display. They never were when I left Americas Tire I figured I needed to get over 70 mph.

Going to swing back by the tire shop tomorrow hopefully they didn't break a tpms

Tpms doesn’t care about your speed, you shouldn’t have left at all if the lights were on.

You need to re-read the post. He stated they never were when he left.

Check the spare tire pressure too. Could just be coincidence but my guess is you're going to have to take it back since you just had an install as something is probably fudged up if all of your pressures check out.

Well hopefully my problem is fixed. Pulled into AT and explained my problem and the service writer came out with the TPMS scan tool
3 of 4 scanned right away except for right rear. They pull it in break down the tire and show me the sensor is not reading. Then they explain the sensor is not OEM
I'm about to lose my shit here cause 2 weeks ago they were supposed to swap my oem to the 4runner pro rims. Keep in mind I bought the truck with 2 miles and never had the tires off.
So they are showing me a yellow tpms saying that's an OEM and its made in Germany?!?
Long story short the yellow "oem" didn't work and they replaced with a new one of what I had.
Tried a 12 mile stint above 25mph after the reset button and I'm still seeing no readings
