I played around with it for a bit and just could not get them to bite. I seem to have awful luck with that sort of fiddling. Any time I try to do something that's not "by the book" it blows up in my face. That's why I was amazed they didn't just fall off immediately.

My next step was going to be to drill new holes in the adapter. If you're worried about how secure the glue is, you could always leave it glued and go ahead and drill holes through the speaker flange into the adapter and just screw it into your new holes.

Thanks to 7r41lbr34k3r.196549 and his boot connector that links up with the OEM connector, I finally finished my custom shifter. Plus installed Meso's Ultimate Map lights in Red. =)

Awhile ago I added $20 LED lights from Amazon under my tonneau. They included a nice toggle switch but I’ve accidently left the lights on overnight, but as they draw so little power it would be days before they affected the battery. Still though I just added a $7 pin switch so they go on and off with the tailgate, and the switch can still turn them off if I want. I also added weatherstripping to keep dust from sneaking back in around the tail gate.

No worries. Mine has endured Texas 100+ heat and direct sun and still looks great.

Where are you pulling 12v constant from? A hot wire straight to the battery? Or tapping off some place?

This is my wife and I exactly. Replaced some head gaskets out on her Dad's old work truck recently (he is not mechanically inclined on vehicles, but can make your kitchen or bathroom look like it belongs on DIY network) and he panicked a bit when he saw how much of his truck was on the floor of my garage. My wife looked at him and told him to "relax - he knows what he's doing" and ushered him out of the garage. Four hours later I drove his truck back to him. Some people just don't understand automotive mechanics.

Which fuse in the box did you tap off of?

In the last 24 hours, I've installed a new wheel/tire setup, and had the alignment done. Went with 17" Method Grids, and 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. Surprisingly, only the toe was off (+1.4 degrees) after installing the BP-51 setup last weekend.

I love the way my truck is transforming. The ride is smoother, and I can run over bigger piles of dirt/rocks/whatever.
