I don’t blame police at all for ticketing people for having illegal tint, mainly because it’s dangerous for them when conducting a traffic stop.

    None.
I bought my first truck in Kentucky and drove it back to Texas. When I went to have it inspected, I was told that the front windows were too dark and wouldn't pass. No inspection means no registration. I got the front's re-tinted to meet code but it's something to consider.

I live in Ohio and had a buddy ticketed for 20%. i had 20 on my old dakota and never had an issue. Like everyone else is saying, most likely as long as your not flashing around, you'll be fine. Just a heads up though they'll use it as a reason to pull you over. Don't wanna risk having a drink or two with them up. Another friend had limo tint on his silverado and just rolled down the windows whenever he was an officer. never had a problem either.

I'd stay legal. Or risk paying a ticket, paying to strip it, and paying some more for another install. It's about revenue for them. Not safety.

My front was tinted to match the rear (I think 20?) And I've never been heckled, or even had it mentioned during inspection.

I think its possible to be written a ticket from another state if their laws are different. I think of H2oi that used to take place in OC. Cops had a field day with all the cars coming in with illegal mods.

Some use digital testers. They know if you're too dark by looking. The tester takes seconds to prove worthy of tickets. Oooo! A new toy to use to write tickets! Solving revenue shortages, I mean crime one step at a time.

NJ does not allow tinting the windscreen or front side windows--anything goes on the rear...

No tint in the front windows or windshield in NJ...but NJ doesn’t care about tint laws right now, at least in the north. I would say 40% of the cars and trucks and even small business commercial vehicles (the GVW size that the Government subsidized a few years ago) have 20% or lower tint in the front window. I have not seen anyone pulled over in just for tint violation in recent years.

That said, if you get pulled over for speeding or for ‘looking like a criminal’ (which does happen here), it’s likely you will get a ticket for front tint if it’s darker than 35%.

I was at the Wawa in Warrington earlier this afternoon, and this unique Hyundai pulled into the spot next to me...

Pink is obviously not my first color choice in any situation, but the DIY work on this woman's Hyundai is top notch (for DIY work that is)! Her husband did it as a birthday present. He removed the wheel covers, sanded them down, and repainted them with rattlecans from Home Cheapo. He did the same with the grille...

We are getting deluged right now! The weatherguessers said something about isolated thunderstorms, but this is just ridiculous!

This fan is NOT waterproof or even intended for outdoor use! However, I totally forgot about it and it was running in this downpour, so I rushed to shut it off (surge protector it's plugged into ain't waterproof either)...

100% sure it will still work just fine tomorrow!
