Nope! I've been at work all day and am going to dinner tonight with some other tacoma peeps. Tomorrow I only work until noon, so if it's not super fucking hot I'll work on the drivers side some more.

Hey a meat meet like the one @FadedComa attended not to long ago. So have you raided the candy store today? “Borrowing” snacks?

Not today! Somehow we always have sweets brought to us during day shift, so I had a cupcake and a mini danish thing. It was quite lovely. What're you up to today?

A whole hitch may be too bulky, and makes it closer to the ground, loosing clearance, but of course, it is worth a look! The spot I saw for more bracing was behind the cheap thin steel skid plate. Bars could be run further under the truck and welded. Being a 2nd1/2 gen doesn't change a thing, frames are the same

Gotcha, assumed it was because you liked my other comment around the same time. Disregard.

That thread has the big man himself’s attention. I’d suggest reading and not posting.

Yeah I'm staying away now for the reason I mentioned earlier. I read the entire thing front to back and it was like reading a good book. I don't want it to get muddled up for future readers.

They'll start reading it and think "Hot damn TW is great" and get to the end and be like "Nevermind"

Can I get the cliffs notes don't feel like reading 43 pages of crap. How did he break the spindle if he had it gusseted or did he not have it welded that well.

Probably a little bit of both.
I think the break was where the gussetts ended.
I’m not positive. I read the thread a year ago.

I think he had non sway bar version plus some questionable welding.

Not the entire hitch. Only the receiver part where you stick the hitch in. I think you can get those at HF. Weld that to a couple braces and it should hold as long as it's to the frame.

Zactly! Receiver is like 50$ around here. Weld it on the truck with braces and you are good to winch jeeps and fords!
