    Convenient.

Found a LC being parted out near me. Might ask about the axle

I haven't had time to check out the one near me yet, or even check my own axle for a bend. How much are they asking for the axle?

IDK yet. It's just an add for a part out and to call to ask about parts. I'm not spending a lot though. Don't really need it.

Oh bummer, if there was an interior shot you could tell but exterior won't tell you much. What year? 95-97 is guaranteed to be full float. 91-94 only ABS models had full float.

    Nice. It's a 97. If it's locked I'll get it for Igor.

Yeah that's fucked. A good no locker specimen is worth $300 at the most. No locker is technically a bit stronger, but locked axles usually go for closer to $700. The one I'm gonna get if my axle is toast is unlocked. I was gonna buy an Aussie and throw it in myself.

So, if you don't mind me asking. Why would you spring for a selectable locker for a wheeling dedicated rig, the luchbox lockers are quirky but with the extra strength of the 9.5 I'm not sure there is much to worry about. Maybe for snow, but in snow I'm in 4x4 to which doesn't stop the possibility of rearend kickout but it helps, I kick the rear out anyway when open. I would never do a lunchbox in the front but rear seems pretty harmless if you have a big LC axle. IDK, Zuk is right down the road if I wanted to do TJM or ARB too but that's a lot of extra cash for something I don't think I'll need to turn off much.

I was looking for Igor. Who isn't a dedicated rig.

Frank will get a Ford 9. Just stronger and more options.

Even then. I will do a selectable. I don't trailer the truck and don't see the need for the extra hassle and wear of an auto locker considering how much highway I drive with it when I do wheel.

And it's a control thing I think. I'd like to know that it's there and on when I say I want it on. Lockers for me are to help me when I need it. I don't want to get in a situation too often where I cant get out of. Lockers should help me get out not really help me get stuck if that makes sense.

Auto lockers work though. No denying that

That makes sense, my equivalent of Igor already has selectable lockers. I suppose I could get the unlocked one swap it for the locked one in my cruiser and throw that in the truck too haha. But I think it would be the strongest to put an ARB or Harrop in the unlocked one. I'll have to look at the price to get Harrops and 4.88s for my truck and see if I can just swing that instead and put off a front locker for even longer.

I'd do harrops if I could again on Frank. But fuck. 1350 a pop is hard to swallow. But the simplicity of them is very cool. And super strong.

    Why 4.88s? No 35s?

I don't think I'll do a front locker in Igor. Don't need it. Never gonna run bigger than 33s on him and don't plan doing anything that hard. But having a rear one for when I need it would be handy. I just want to keep Igor simple over built and reliable. Suspension will get a work over first

I've got lots of power with the SC, even with 33s and heavier wheels I don't feel the need to upgrade from 4.10s yet. When I go to 35s I think all I would need is 4.88, 5.29 I think I would need a 6th gear haha. My RPM are still pretty damn high just cruising at 80mph, with 5.29 and 35 I think it'd still be really high. Past 3.5k you see pretty diminishing returns unless you're dipping hard into the boost which I can downshift for. Harrop is what I'd want, price is right to not have to dick around with leaking air fittings and solenoids.
