I use ARX .357 Magnum. Very lightweight. Only 86 grains, so it moves very fast. Light recoil. Not much different than a .38 +P as far as recoil, but moving at a much higher speed.

I used to carry 125 gr. HP .357s in my snubby, but I have switched to .38 +P loads.

IMHO, the problem with full power .357s is most of the power burns outside of the barrel - not contributing to power the bullet, and adding light and sound to the situation, both of which are probably undesirable. Some of the new loads (by Hornady, for instance) are designed to burn all the power in the short barrel.

Try some different loads. See what you can control/are comfortable shooting and which are accurate enough.

I carry hornady 125gr critical defense .357 for 2 legged critters and ppu 158 gr sjhp for 4 legged critters, but i also carry a 4" so recoil is not a real issue for me

I don't use a revolver as an EDC so it's a non-issue for me. I was just saying that hypothetically, if I did carry one, I'd have that debate with myself. My S&W 19 shoots .38's and .357's equally well, so I keep it loaded with .357

Had a meet and shoot today and one guy brought a gp100 that complemented my Taurus well so I sent 13 .357 down range and made contact 5 times. (But I looked good doin it)

Just popped this yote running across my sister's yard at about 90 yards (knocked it down and kept it down with a couple follow up shots and finally finished it at about 5 yards)

I don't remember as it was bought around 1987. Its a B-square mono-mount. Probably only available used now.

I inherited this when my stepfather passed in 2014, a Charter Arms Undercover 38. From what I can tell, it's a mid/late '70's vintage based on s/n and Stratford manufacture. Super tight and shoots great. Unfortunately, it's missing the cylinder stop, and I can't seem to find one anywhere. It spends its life now as a backup truck gun...
