Well, I'm really not sure what to think. These tires are visibly smaller than the generals, and the shimmy at 55 mph is the same/worse. 20180703_174847.jpg

interesting. sorry you're still having the issues. I would seriously think about suspension, differential, rotors, brakes, etc., if you keep having the same issue though?

I just did some aggressive driving (on pavement, mind you) in all kinds of conditions in my new AT3 4S and there is absolutely no wobble or out of balance feel whatsoever. The 4S seems to be basically the same tire with the exception of the outer lugs which are alternating in a recessed and flush pattern vs. the solid pattern on the old version. I would think this would lead to more noise and vibration honestly but it doesn't.

Some of the most whisper quiet, smooth tires I've had. And some jackass slammed on their brakes in front of me and I was extremely impressed with the response under hard braking. I know you're probably just over it in general at this point but it's hard for me to believe 2 different sets of tires from different manufacturers have the exact same wobble unless there's something else amiss?

Do you have the proper lug nuts? That'll cause the same effect if they're not the right ones.

It's possible other factors are at play, including installer. These guys used some beads in the front tires but not the rears, and didn't check them via road force as I requested. So it's hard to say, aesthetically I liked the generals more, and these are quieter but have a more pronounced "wobble" while the generals had more of a mud tire shake. I'm freaking losing my mind over this

Do you have a locking lug? Just offering any solutions I've heard of. Lived with the wobble on my duratracs, makes driving a miserable task.

Hopefully someone will chime in if those aren't right, I honestly don't know. I just remembered reading about that as a possible issue while going crazy myself.

Is that what fixed yours? I'm kicking myself for taking off my AT2s, those things still seemed to be better than these newer tires

I never figured it out. Once I got the 18 it went away, lol. I gave up on the tire shop after 3 times however. I probably could have kept going back and had them fix but I gave up.

Haha, I test drove one and shouldn't have. As much as I love my truck nothing beats a new vehicle

I called discount (again) and they said they should've road forced to check it isn't my wheels, so I'm almost to the point where I want to drive 3 hours to the closest discount tire store and let them sort me out.

Hmm so the pressures were all at 40, dropped to 32-34 and retorqued lugs to try and troubleshoot the issues, will get some highway miles on them this week and if they feel worse than the other tires I'll swap them back

    Got my 285/75/16 At3 xlt’s in today from tirebuyer.com.
My last five sets of tires for two vehicles have been duratracs and I’m excited to try these out

    Will do!

Also tip of the hat to tirebuyer, shipped next business day (yesterday) and they arrived today. First time doing business with them and I’m happy. :hattip:

They were my first option but didn’t see the XLT’s on their site?
