Just put brand new struts, shocks, lower control arms, tie rods, and ball joints in the truck had it aligned and it still feels like it’s floating. Don’t know what else it could be.

If its swaying, check for rank and pinion bushings.

How knows what the springs are rated at. I'd say it's the front springs are way soft.

I had a similar feeling with my 2003 tacoma. Turned out to be the rack and pinion bushings.

"Floaty" is how I describe the current ride on my truck that I recently picked up. It has 225k miles on original springs with Gabriel shocks that the previous owner picked up from Oreilly's. I feel like those shocks are made more for comfort than performance.

DOing that with shocks that can't handle those stiffer springs, will only leave the OP with new blown shocks.

As to the OP, what you did is like going to the nearest pharmacy, complaining that you are ill, without decribing your symptoms, buying a chocolate bar, and after eating said bar, wondering how come you are not feeling better...

I made this same mistake, buying coil and shock package at Autozone. Same sort of floating, soft, wobbly ride (over bumps). Went with OME package front and rear, from Wheelers. All the difference in the world. Expensive lesson learned.

What makes you say that? Actually stiffer springs would make it less likely for the shocks to blow. Shocks blow out from super fast and long strokes. Stiffer springs would make that less likely.

What are your caster numbers from the alignment? Degrees.

I assume these new strut/spring coilovers were stock height?

Experience as an auto crosser, based on rookie mistakes made. If the spring is more than the shock valving can handle, the shock will blow out.

I'm with @mechanicjon on this one. The shocks in question have very soft valving, along with a low spring rate. Increasing the spring rate will make things stiffer, but the shock will still provide the same valving, and still do little to dampen. So no reason they are working harder, to blow. The flip side, stiff valving and a softer spring, would have the potential to blow the shock. Soft spring is allowing the shock to be compressed too fast, potential to blow.
