KBB vs. NADA

used car prices/values.. I've always used or went by KBB prices. Some people selling are going by NADA (i think... National automotive dealers asso.).. My bank goes by KBB. What gives?

 

They go by whichever is in their best interest. If you're selling they will go by the cheaper one, if you're buying they will go by the more expensive one...

ive seen nada used more when dealing with banks and credit unions. kbb is what ive used when dealing privately. i dont think you can get a private party quote from nada.

 

too bad dealerships never go by either. They use local auction pricing and average it out. Con artists, if you can get the dealer to give you KBB trade in, you scored.
But the banks usually go by KBB if Im not mistaken.. KBB NADA Black book, they are all around the same pricing anyway.
