Just wanted to say hi. The wife and I moved to Lone Tree last week and are settling in. Can’t wait to finish with all the moving and get out and explore some trails.

    Happy 4th to me.

Rental prices just increased and they didn't tell me until i got there yesterday.

Trailer brakes on trailer were going in and out on the way home last night.

Then they stopped working going up the pass to return it today (strange trailer brake warnings on the dash).. Started a slow descent of the pass not expecting trailer brakes to work at all and one of the tires blows out.

Judging by the heavily cracked/sliced tires that remain... It shouldn't have been a surprise. Just an answering machine at the rental place, no service where the trailer and equipment are currently parked. :frusty:

Anybody looking to do some air lines in their truck soon?

Thinking of ordering some push to connect air fittings and nylon air brake tube to my compressor.

I’ll have about 25 feet of left over air line and 5 1/4 npt to 3/8ths push to connect fittings.

4 hour project, found someone who knew the owner, got me a tire off another trailer and i went back to swap it out.

At least I didn't have to manually jack it up. Learning tricks from @lobsterbait

If the machine was strong enough you cound have left it chained to the trailer and just used the arm to tip the whole trailer

It was already off the trailer since I had to leave it there to go up to the top of the pass and get service to call the rental place. Then waste 3 more hours driving down to BV to snoop around their property looking for a tire. It was a great way to spend most of the day.

In a day? Way too much. You can spend an entire day on Imogene (nevermind Yankee) depending on how much you like to stop and get out and look. It's probably half a day minimum. Silverton... well it's cool to be there when the train comes in, but other than that mostly just an hour or two for shops and a meal. Unless you go on up to the Alpine Loop, or Animas Forks, which you could spend a couple days up that way. Red Mountain is a couple hours at most, assuming you find both segments (have to get back on the highway for a short bit between). I haven't done Black Bear, but I'd think half a day at least.

Now, if you're staying in Silverton tonight, and get up and leave first thing in the morning, and you basically don't spend much time in any of the towns (and are staying in Ouray tomorrow night), nor do you stop and get out much on the trails... Yes, you could do all that in a single day. For most people, starting in Ouray or Telluride and doing Black Bear and Ophir or Imogene as a loop generally makes for a good full day.
