We were going to hike the Looking Glass Rock trail, at the recommendation of several friends.

Open to going anywhere, just need to find somewhere we can set up camp tonight.

I’d recommend that last pic. It’s a stellar spot.

being an Illinois truck makes it even more curious, those usually didn't last more than 12-15yrs before the frame rotted out behind the cab willing to bet its been redone a tine or 2, those beds are notorious for rusting right where you see it, and its didn't take long for it to happen ( my '82 died in '95 of rust and a crushing blow to the rear, i lived in Illinois at the time )

It doesn't have to have a frame.... But it helps.

Man I’m sorry I don’t know what it’s xalled. If you go to N Mills rec area and stay on that road (it turns to gravel just past the car camping spot) and follow the gravel road you’ll come to that turn off to your left. It’s the only non gated left turn you can take off the road. Prolly 20-25 mins of driving once you pass N Mills River Rec area. Worst case scenario, if you are on the gravel road you’ll pass 20 or more car camping spots and be right in the mix of things and all the hiking trails. So you can’t really go wrong on that road if you’re looking to car camp and be near hiking trails.

N Mills is a good spot for car camping near a decent creek but I’m more of a fan of being away from people.

If you don’t have a map, I’d recommend picking up a Pisgah Ranger District map at any outfitter nearby.

From 276 N toward Looking Glass Falls, hang an East on National Forest Road 475. About a mile, maybe less, Headwaters Road is on the right. Gravel. That road will put you on the back of Looking Glass Rock. There are some decent logging road pull-offs. Have overnighted up in there several times with no issues.

:rofl::rofl:cant tell you how many times we found cats, squirrels, rabbit, a snake etc in engine bays. It's quite a shock when you pop the hood and something comes jumping out at you. That video reminded me of those days I got a good laugh!

Debbie Downer, i knew her, pretty hot, Her Mom was a MILF too !

being that clean they had to have just let it idle in gear for a few hours a week on stands, thats freakin MINT compared to trucks found in IL, no matter the brand !
I do see some rust forming in the rear of front fender in the top pic though

Keep it, you'll need it when the first one craps out.
