I'm very nervous about getting water in the bay 0.0

On a side note, I'd love to clean my engine but. Not sure how to do it efficiently without damaging something.

Not much to worry about.. Just don't spray high pressure water point blank at connectors or the alternator.

The trick to keeping a clean engine is maintenance. Don't let it get real bad. If you don't it's easy to keep clean.

With a cold engine I spray everything down with the 50/50 water and Simple Green solution. I'll let it sit for a couple of minutes then hose it off with low pressure water.

Don't sweat getting the engine wet. It's not a sealed area. It's designed to handle a fair amount of moisture. Just don't take a pressure washer to sensitive areas.

Do this every couple of months and it's simple to keep clean.

My Crew Cab has no issue keeping cool unless stopped. That's when not enough air flow or refrigerant flow to keep things cool

    Howdy,
gonna stir things up a little with my post. My 12 Taco hasnt had cold air for 3 years. I had cool out of the drivers vents and warm out of the passenger vents. I went against all that has been said on here about using AC Pro. I added it last week and now have had AC for a week. I know it is a bad fix but it sure worked for me. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never did any before or after checks and had good air before it. But 1/2 inch I.D. non sealing pipe insulation was only $1 for a 6' section. So I figured why not?

Speaking of keeping interiors cooler on hot days, I'm getting my windows tinted today!

Make sure you get film that actually filters UV radiation. Cheap dye film does little of that. Step up and get ceramic

I have a 2013 and just successfully dealt with the the exact same issue. In my case this is what solved the problem and only first $40.

    1) It was leaking out of the LP intake port's shrader valve. Autozone has a kit for $4 that includes a tool and 2 replacement valves. Problem solved.

    2) Evacuated all Freon. (during valve installation)

    3) Filled with 2 1/2 small cans of Freon. DO NOT buy the type with any form of STOP LEAK. And DO NOT rely on those CHEAP GAUGES that fit in top of the can. Invest In a quality gauge. The cheap gauges are not accurate and allow for the potential to over fill the system. In my case, The compressor would not not stay on when it had TOO MUCH. Also, air in the lines will do the exact same. I bled the system slowly and finally found the Goldilocks zone.

    4) Change cabin filter.

    5) Enjoy

That's a good brand. Just make sure you go ceramic or metalized
