    (...not S/C related, but I ended up swapping out charcoal canisters and filters today. Dealership wants $623+tax for it. Cost me $354 from genuine toyota parts .com, or something like that, plus 1 hour of my time).

    It sits under the bed, by the fuel cell and helps get rid of vapors and pollutants for emissions.

    For those interested in how efficient our intercooler is here is a video. Sorry for the shakey video. I was driving from Cali to Texas by myself and had to watch for traffic. This was a long incline, speed 80mph, boost about 1 to 2 psi, oat 106. The higher number is intercooler in, the - number is temperature differential, and the lower + number is intercooler out. What the engine is actually ingesting.

    The highest intercooler differential temperature I saw was 62°. Also of interest, going through lake Havasu area up a really long hill in a headwind at 112° oat and cruise set at 80mph intercooler in was 200° and post intercooler was 140°. This was with about 3 to 5 psi boost. Engine temp never got above 190° with the CSF radiator and 160° thermostat.

    Very nice. I like that guage and the placement. Goes to show that our little intercooler does actually work pretty dang well.

    And on a side note, I ordered the Ucon EMS on the 3rd. Used the "forummember" discount code. And if this doesn't work and get my truck in the right AFR's and run at least as good as my s/c 5vz-fe did then the wife says we are selling it and it can be someone else's headache. So fingers crossed.

    Another question for you all though. Would it be beneficial to put the 76mm throttle body on now also? I know more air, more power. But mainly what I am concerned about is if the truck just runs better overall. Would love some more MPG's but when I am spinning 2800-3000 rpm going down the highway would a 76 just mean it needs more fuel and therefore hurt the current low mpg number of 13 on the freeway?

    The UCON will put you in the proper AFR all the time. It is always in closed loop so it controls the AFR under all operating conditions.
    Make sure if you are boost referenced to put it back to stock.

    I think mine runs better with 76mm. I dont think it changes mpg. It allows for more future potential hp. Better flow for sure when properly mated to the s/c. I would do it if I were you.

    The larger throttle body wont increase fuel consumption until you exceed the airflow capacity of the stock tb.
    Example...you are doing 75 on the freeway and the engine requests 14.7 air/fuel ratio (stoichiometric). Since the engine is under a constant load and the ecu is demanding the af ratio, tb size doesnt matter.

    That is what I am hoping for. Just having the right AFR is going to be so nice. At this point I am glad the Bosch sensor is garbage and it errors out all the time. Then I don't have to get pissed every time it goes rich. And as for the boost reference, I am good to go. Never set it to boost reference since I was so rich already without it referenced.

    Thank You, I am going to search for a 76mm it looks like.

    That is what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure. With the Ucon or a any proper tune, the ECU isn't going to just dump more fuel just cause it has the ability too.

    I really dont know which sensor is good or bad. I am building some y-pipes for people here using the same finned bungs I installed on my truck and never have had a problem. I have an Innovate gauge setup and in the instructions it even states you must use a longer bung if exhaust temps are above a certain point. To play it safe I am installing these in every o2 position so none of my peeps have to worry.

    @Roostfactor : remind me again so I don't have to search a bazillion posts - do you use the stock intercooler pump or the higher flow one? And what size pulley? TRD tune or UCON?

    I have the stock ic pump, 2.5 pulley, UCON. Temps are much greater with the 2.5 than with the 2.85 I had on before. It's cool to see how different size pulleys effect temps.
