    Denso or off brand?

AC Pro? Are you referring to using the cans of industrial tyoe R134A that we have been talking about? Is it cold at idle all the time even in the sweltering heat now?

    Yeah.
Just looked it up, $324.79 for Denso.

    Condensor and evaporator another $100.

My old '92 ran R12 and it eventually developed a slow leak. I had been hoarding cans of R12, but I eventually ran out. I bought an '04 Tacoma, so decided to sell the old truck. I got one of those R134a conversion kits with the stop leak and was actually amazed at how well it worked. That thing would freeze your a$$ off.

That's not a bad price at all for a Denso if my compressor ever blows up I'll be getting a Denso one for sure. I refuse to use a different brand at this point. I sure do miss R12.

I went with the LLumar ATR. FormulaONE by LLumar (ceramic) is almost double the price. My dad is paying for the $160 ATR as a late birthday present.

ATR comes with a lifetime warranty for as long as I own the truck. I am getting ForulaONE clear ceramic on the windshield next year though.

    Yeah.
That might be correct -- RockAuto has that one for $360.79.

I'm glad my A/C is working well right now...

I can't open my windows for 3 days after the tint is applied!

Hope this helps

@12TRDTacoma try idling the truck with ac on max and take a vent air temp. Then put the biggest fan you can find right in front of the grill as close as possible and check vent temps again. Keep hood closed the whole time. If your temps drop with the fan then you know you have a condenser airflow problem at idle.

Alright I'm going to try it this weekend. Thankfully I have a lot of simple green as I use it to remove cosmoline from my old rifles :p

That is actually a good idea. Some service manuals call for a fan in front like that when servicing the AC.

    Agreed

As long as the film is rated to actually filter UV radiation. Most cheap dye films don't do this well....or at all. Ceramic and metalized film do a good job of blocking UV rays. They are also much more stable and will resist fading and cracking so well that many have a lifetime warranty against it.

Ever seen purple tint? That not intentional. That what happens to the dye when it breaks down under UV assault.

When it comes to tint...always step up to the real stuff. It will last infinitely longer, look better in the long run and will help to combat both heat and interior fading

Yes, you both have a leak that needs to be located and fixed.

And get one of these. You can pick them up cheap at Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer, etc.

The ones that have the shiny foil surface are the most effective.
