max tire size on stock 17" rim with 2.5-3" lift

Hello out there,

I am considering doing the bilstein 5100s set to 2.5 on the front and toytec aal for tsb on the back lift setup and was wondering what size tires I could fit on my stock trd sport 17" rims that would not rub (minor fender trim maybe ok). I am thinking bfg a/t KOs and want to be able to get them mounted at a shop with a warranty. Also, would I need wheel spacers? Any thoughts?

I have a 3" revtec lift and 285 bfg a/t ko's. I dont have spacers and dont have any rubbing issues, but any larger tire wouldn't fit. I have 17" FJ rims

 

Just for my own edufication: the AAL and the rear spring TSB end up doing the same right?

 

i just have tsb and front bilstiens set at 1.75 and i am getting 175/70/17's thinking about changing the front to 2.5, the rear is about 1 inch higher when set at 1.75

 

2007 dbl cab with stock wheels.3in. lift,285/70 and very minor rubbing when wheels are turned all the way.Tires are Pro Comp's and are loud

 

I'm running 285/70/17 5100's @2.5 spidertrax wheel spacers I rub on the cabmount with the wheel cranked all the way.I had to trim the fenders.

Looking at your pics you're not running the stock rims for those tires though right?

 

I have 285 BFG all terrains with some trimming its fine!

 

Hey newlife, did you have to put wheel spacers in? Do you get a lot of rocks getting shot up at the truck from the tires because of the wider stance?

 

Good question. I think they will fit with a little trim and wheel spacer

 

yes 1.5" spacer and the wider stance doesn't make rocks fly up at all and I would notice because I'm a detailer and I'm always looking for flaws on my truck.

Truck looks sweet! Definitely going to go with the BFG A/Ts myself. Really debating whether it is worth going to the 285s and having to use spacers and trimming or if I could get away with the 275s without any spacers or trimming and if it would be very noticeable difference. What kind of spacers did you get and how much are they if you don't mind me asking. Probably a good idea so you can have some more space between the tires and the stock UCAs. I was a little pissed this winter when I realized I couldn't fit chains on my front tires. Do you have any pics of the side view? Cheers!
