Should be just fine. The Timbrens are progressive and will prevent the shock from fully bottoming out.

I don’t offroad crazy or fast. Mostly rock crawling and forest roads without heavy bed load and my shocks have been compressed as far as they will go and have about 1.5” space before bottoming out.

You can see in the pic below the clean and dirty part of the shock travel. Ignore my janking leafs. The overloads twist when unloaded at full droop.

I don't go crazy neither. I took a little stoll on forest road last week, I'm planning on some low speed rock crawling etc. So I'm being hopeful that this set up will work ok.

Now about your leafs.... You sure your U bolts are tight?

 

Oh ya that are way tight. I have to use a sledge to move them back but they don’t hurt anything.

I greased the leaf pack before assembling them and installing them so I think that is what allows them to twist a bit.

 

how come when i drop from a rock or drop into a hole it seems rough as hell....do i need better bumpstops?

 

That’s pretty subjective mate. It’s probably not your bump stops but your shocks. Are yours adjustable?

yup...regardless if they are on firm or soft i get a harsh landing...not exactly to sure how to explain it maybe i don't have enough down travel?

 

Evidently I was not using my thinking cap. I called King yesterday for the specs. The bolt specs is as you said (except 1" in length). Every place that I went to, had those 1 inchers in stock. I thought they needed to be longer. So the front suspension and UCAs are on. Today the rear end gets done. Thanks for your help!

 

What speed?and what is your setup? 600# or 700# coils? Winch up front?

 

650lb set at 2" with jba uca's....got full steel skids and sliders...no winch..maybe i got the kings maxed out on preload?

 

That's the set up I have right now as well. I mean hardware. I'll have to recheck the height and preload, but I don't have any symptoms you've mentioned

 

OK, so I went out and checked

So, there they are - 650 lbs springs--with full steel skids and sliders, but still stock bumper (no winch). Apparently front settled 1/2 inch in last 2 weeks and ~700 miles... On my slightly sloped driveway, I sporting 22 1/2 inches hub to fender in the front, and 23 1/2 in the rear (almost out of fuel). I'd say ride is firm but smooth, no jarring or whatever. I have a squeak on driver side, and slight "tap" on pass side when going over bumps. I'll have to go over all the bolts with a torque wrench maybe this weekend.

Probably I'm not helping much, but at least you have something to compare.

 

I got a little more preload than you do and I got a chirp on the drivers side

 

I want to re-grease my UCAs, just in case.... I was freaking out a bit about my squeak yesterday, I was told to chill out, lol. Changing things in suspension brings different noises than stock stuff. That we have to learn how to live with. Way too hard/harsh stuff - like you've mentioned, might need investigating

Has anyone run the Icon RXT leaf spring full replacement pack with Kings?

What are the pros/cons of the other full replacement leaf packs?

 

I went from add a leaf to allpros to RXTs. RXTs are working tons better.
Hard to beat the price and adjustable height.

 

Ok so maybe this a dumb question, but hey I'm sure you guys can help me out. So I've had my kit installed for over a month now and i feel like maybe the truck has a bit of a forward lean to it.

So...

1.) How do i properly measure my lift specs?
2.) Do I need to jack up the truck to make the adjustments (the front adjustments for height only, I think the right term is Pre-Load?)
3.) Is there a good video you guys know off that show the proper way to do it?

1. From center of the rim to bottom of wheel fender
2. I highly recommend to lift the truck off the wheels. It'll take the load off the coilovers. Every 4-5 exposed threads on the coilovers equal 1/4" of lift.
3. There's a few youtube video floating around about how to adjust them.
