Ya... I was kind of hesitating on the Brembo rotors/drums. I mean what does Brembo know about brakes anyway?

And then there's the whole thing about how the Engineers at Toyota learned their trade from Callicrates himself and Toyota drums and rotors are forged by Samurai with iron gleaned directly from Odins hammer.

Shit... maybe I should return all this.

LOL, no one on here says OEM everything but a few do recommend OEM when it has been proven safer.
I have a lot of aftermarket things that are better for my truck than OEM so I use them.
I am amazed when people argue cheaper is just as good when there is proof that is not.
Like I said earlier to each their own, your truck.

Oh my god! I need attention... non stop???

I went over a month without even posting. I absolutely don't "need attention"... I just think it's amusing watching how knotted up you Nancy's get over the subject.

Yeah Monte! BTFO, he was just poking fun and stirring the pot. Innocent until proven stupid. You know this forum is for praise and applause of replacing OEM parts with superior auto part store Chinese steel and forging.

    I'm all outta sarcasm

Yeah of course Brembo knows brakes but there's nothing "Brembo" about their OE fit replacement rotors except for the box they put them in. Just paying for the name, most likely still made in China anyway. I bought one set, finally wore out, never will I pay a premuim for brembo replacement rotors ever again. Went with Centric rotors this time, couldn't be happier.

There are certain things that I will always use OEM parts but brakes aren't one of them. OEM brakes are good but you can get better performance with aftermarket & cheaper. Sure, usually you can't go wrong OEM but OEM usually is expensive. Many OEM parts are not actually by the OEM, just made for them.

Agreed! Our OEM brakes are Sumitomo, the only way to get them is through Toyota. That said, they're average, the EBC stuff ranges from just as good to much better.

Look man... I have even seen people here post that you should only use OEM brake fluid. Which, in the case of our trucks, is 15+ year old technology that has essentially been replaced by BETTER Dot 4.

But it was insisted that OEM, Toyota, Dot 3 had "special additives" designed specifically for the brake system.

I've seen OEM oil filters are "better."

Hell, there's probably someone in here that would say that Toyota OEM washer fluid is special.

I'm not saying any of those that are replying now said this... but it is just SOME of the ridiculousness that makes it on to TacomaWorld.

I ran two Chinese auto parts store ball joints, one got notchy within a month and I got a free replacement and ran it for a year. Both of those POS (the right marked 555) were notchy and loose and one was really loose and could be heard. So I decided $200 wasn't gonna keep from eating that month and bought OEM joints.
