I've been through probably a dozen or so play thing cars. That being said, after 15 (!) years I have had, and still enjoy, my S2000.

It's been supercharged, turbocharged, and back again probably 3 times. Is currently a stock motor and is still just as much fun as when it put down 500whp. I still stare at it in the garage. Even my wife still loves it!

I love my M3 track car. Depends what type of fun you’re looking at getting into though.... track car, weekend car, off-road vehicle, etc.

I’ve never driven one, but I definitely love the s2k. I’m just trying to find something that will replace my Lexus is300 and I’ve heard the s2k is a decent replacemt

1998. Bought it bone stock 10 years ago and have now stripped it down, thrown in a roll cage, etc.

I've driven tons of stuff. Still the most fantastic thing I've ever driven. There's only two things you have to consider owning an s2k:

    1) You gotta be ok with zero low end torque.
    2) You REALLY gotta be ok with being a little tight, or being shorter than 5' 8" or so!

I'm more of a Nike Air Monarch guy. Admittedly the C5 is more fun than it should be, and I'm coming from a 2006 STi.

Outside of maybe a 996 can you buy a running 911 these days that doesn't require remortgaging your house?

I’ve had a couple of Nissan Z cars. I gotta say a manual trans 370z is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. Reasonably priced for such awesome handling and performance! I had a 2010, but people thought it was much newer because the body still hasn’t changed.

I only sold it to facilitate turning my 2.7 SR taco into my pro.

WRXs are nice (and Quick) but many have been beat. What's your budget? I frequent bringatrailer.com- I've been dying to test drive a Honda S2000. There is a nice one there tight now. People complain about dash speedo layout...I agree but I would probably get used to it.

I'm still old school...I have a 78 Ls1 powered TA- it's loud and fast! 2009 ZR1 Jetstream metallic, 4l60e auto, long tubes, 2 tone white and black interior, 1999 z28 seats.

I still lust after a Z32 TT. I had looked for one prior to my C5 but couldn't find one (even NA) worth buying at the point. I was without a car and needed something while my 2016 was coming in due to weird circumstances and found my C5, but I still sometimes wonder if I should have gone in a different direction. The year before I got serious about buying I had found a 1-owner 1990 TT, black on black with 60K for 11.5K. I still kick myself.

E36 if you want something with plenty of aftermarket and affordability. E46 is also good. Avoid the v8 if you don't want to worry about valve issues
