Good natured fun. Take most of this stuff with a grain of salt. That said, I installed TRD valve stem covers yesterday. They not only look good, I'm pretty sure they added 5 more horses.

I dont get all these "more power" threads. What's wrong with the truck stock? Toyota is not shy about broadcasting hp numbers. 278 isn't bad for a small v6.

^^^^FANBOY alert^^^^ OP Your not alone. The Tacoma is Prius's baby brother. He is so cute... You have to mash the pedal on this truck to make the truck go. The truck has a hard time with a headwind maintaining speed at 65 unless the transmission shifts on flat roads.

I mean I guess I am a bit of a fanboy since I bought the truck

But seriously there was just another thread posted like 5 minutes ago!

I'm with you. If I want to get up and go, I push the ETC button and slap it into S4. Truck is definitely no slouch.
I will admit, the truck transmission definitely got better after about 10k on the clock. Just drive it for now, get used to it, then make a decision on upgrades.

Hahahaha! You could also remove the tailgate and spare tire for additional weight reduction

I’d hate to be a non Tacoma owner, for many reasons.
For one, if I read these threads I d feel the Tacoma be wildly slow.

Ummmm, sorry but, it’s a truck w a bed A bed for moving stuff, literally stuff or to tow.
Why would you need a truck to actually drive fast

I'm not saying the truck is bad or slow I love it. Just looking to improve it some.

I do love the truck as well. I just wish it had more torque and could maintain highway speeds better. Press the pedal and it goes though.

I wish my truck had a little more torque at lower RPMs but overall it's fine, you just need to adapt your driving style a little.

Dunno. @Torspd, got thoughts on this? :D

I mean NASCAR built a whole series based on trucks. That must have something to do with it too? :burnrubber:
