We have those little blue blips of precipitation next week. Could amount to a whole lotta nothing. But I'm ready to go into road grading mode if we do get something out of it. I have leftover paper work from June to knock out I'll go in and do (probably) Sunday so I'll be freed up to take advantage of any rain we might get. I have mine work on my schedule but think I'll move it out another week or 2 and just go into road maintenance mode now.

 

Well my 2 to 3 day shipping comes in at a record 6 days. Well maybe if it doesn't fall out of the mail truck. I wish people had to be as efficient and fast as some of us in our jobs.

Temps dropped a bit since the rain.
But, humidity 95-100% and dew points close to 80.
Waiting for that big wind gust to blow this shit out.

 

That just sounds miserable.

 

Tree guy came this morning, but the lightning put a stop to the work.
85 ft. Black Gum.
Too close to the house for comfort especially after seeing trees toppled during recent storms.

Bark shredded at the base of trunk and last year I saw black ants going in.
Don't need a compromised piggy like this around. Lot of weight on that rot spot.
He'll be back on monday to finish up.

 

nearly put a hole through my shiny unblemished tailgate... trailer came unhooked doing about 60 k over a rise, luckily the tongue dropped to the road and the chains stopped it perfectly with the hitch under the truck, I heard the scraping noise and in the blink of an eye I was stopped and not a scratch on the truck... not something I want to repeat though!! I always (except today) check that the fork is under the ball... but was monkeying around with the lights, had a right hand clearance light blinking instead of the rear right signal light... and my usual check list went out the window I guess (or I am just getting old and stupid!!). Anyway, didn't even squeal a tire, good ol' truck just stopped like it was nothing, dead straight, and I got a neighbour to help lift the hitch back on the ball and off I went, phew!!

 

Smart man. I paid someone to cut an elm that was dying and pitched toward the house across the ravine last year. I cut most of them myself but sometimes they can be tricky especially if dying. Worth every penny.

 

Temp right now at 102° , going to be a warm day !! . Getting ready to head out the door to do some shopping !!!
