    Yep, 205° was with the AC on of course & going up the hill to get home. I pretty much never turn off my AC, I like to be an eskimo, I don't do well with heat. I've never seen my truck get into the 200s before until today.

    Well it was a bad call on my part but it sounded like a wrist pin knock turned out bad red bearing I cant afford to get the crank machine shop I have a 97 2.7 just started leaking on the head gasket runs great no knocks

    That crossmember is mangled. But damn dude I'd get a cheapo engine from a yard or something and make a franken motor for it.

    I have a 1997 motor out back of my house that runs just needs a head gasket it just started leaking can I use the 97 block w the 04 head

    Only if you're putting it in an 98-04 because the 04 head doesn't have a distributor hole.

    Yeah it's a 04 tacoma so I was going to use the 04 head on the 97 block they have all the same sensors right

    So is there anything I should look out for should I leave the lower end on the 97 alone and just put new water pump and oil pump and gaskets

    I think all you need to change is the knock sensor to make it compatible
