Wow... you’re getting in some good eastern Sierra time this summer. You’ll almost be a local by the time we go up on the 27th!

I would live up here If I could find a way to make a living lol. I normally make it up there about 3-5 times a year, this year might be closer to 10 by end of summer lol You never run out of stuff to do out there so every trip can be different.

Yeah. If I were single with no kids I’d be up there more. Too many family things here locally that restrict my exploration/TW activity time.

    CAMPSITE UPDATE:
So after spending this past weekend up there again and with much less crowds too, I think Deadmans Creek campsite will not work out. :sorry: It would just be too hard for us all to camp near each other, and I noticed some people stay there for extended periods, there was a motor home there that I saw last week and it was the same old couple. I did go by the off grid site and it was empty again so that's out best bet. I also ran into another member @Aldo_Galvan who is a new Taco owner ( congrats! ) and Mammoth Local who might be joining us at least for the night. So we will need to bring more water and I usually either go hike and dig a hole and just go poo in town when we eat or go to any store haha. Also will need to keep in mind food and wild life storage. Were doing it overland style guys!

Sounds like a good plan! Question, did you see any place near the site to get firewood? I'd prefer to get it up there, but if we need to buy some as we go through Bishop, I can do that too.

Pretty much every store in town sells those $7 bundles and there is plenty of natural firewood laying around.

So I brought the Wifey and my sister this past weekend.

Right outside of Lone Pine there is a hidden gem " Reward Mine" which is a mine shaft big enough to drive your truck throguh, it goes all the way through but It was my first time and there are a bunch of different turns inside so if you dont know which way to g you can easily get lost or stuck lol I went in about half mile then turned around.

We stopped near Bishop to soak our feet in the hot springs right off the 395. There are about 6-8 little pools to sit in here, great place either on the way up or on the way back.

And its pretty much a tradition now to stop by Copper Top BBQ in Big Pine, CA

Right before you roll into Mammoth theres a really cool lake called Convict Lake, great fishing lake.

This is the hot springs in Mammoth, nick named wild willies or something. Can get pretty crowded at sunset but stilla great spot.

They sell vacuum sealed stuff so you can grab it on your way and heat it up for dinner.
