Just looking to see if anyone has installed a supercharger recently.
Debating to either buy one with a sc already installed or complete stock and build.

If you did how many miles did you have when did get installed?
Where did you order it through?

if u already have the truck, just buy the blower and install it/have it installed.

    urdusa.com is a good place.

I bought mine a few years ago from toyota and had them install it at approx 60,000 miles iirc

the whole "TRD" supercharger isnt being made anymore.........the company who built the kit, "magnuson" is now producing the same exact supercharger kit without the "TRD" logo on it.
Toyota quit selling the supercharger a while back, but the magnuson is the EXACT same setup..... remember "TRD" makes contracts, winners of these contracts make "products" and then toyota has their "TRD" stamped, etched, or painted onto these products and sells them for a premium.

just about everything labeled "TRD" is on a shelf for MUCH cheaper through an actual manufacturer.

Yes, about a week or two ago.
I vote to buy a new one and install it yourself or have it installed somewhere you trust

If by recently you mean 2 years ago, I did. Bought it during a group buy through Sparks Toyota.

Truck had 30K on the clock when I installed it (DIY), done slow and steady over 2 days.

The only difficult part was removing the crank pulley bolt. Dropping the blower onto the intake manifold requires 2 people to do safely. If you have a custom bumper be prepared to modify the mounting for the intercooler pump. Other than that it's straightforward.

When I bought mine some people were having issues with the tuner provided (Bully Dog). I didn't but YMMV. That's probably been sorted since I installed mine.

I put one on my truck when she had 125k on the clock. Still runs like a champ at 180+! DO IT.

I actually got mine off of eBay brand new! I havent priced them lately, but I might be able to get you a good deal on a Magnusson one...

Got about 40K on my blower. Wasn't a horrible install, just time consuming. Hard runs on a daily basis of it. It's like a whole new truck when you first put the blower on, same after every mod is performed for it thereafter. My opinion. Do it.

How often do you guys rebuild them? Are they really good to go for 100k miles?

Been driving mine for about 40k too. I've had zero problems. I did determine that it wasn't enough on it's own and mods have been on-going. I imagine that you'll find that to be the case too. More powah is addictive. So, your wallet will continue to feel pain.

Thanks so much guys, looks like I'll buy a stock dclb and just install from there. Was afraid of installing a sc on motor with over 100,00 miles.

Installed my own in March with 30k on the truck. It's not overly difficult if youre mechanically inclined and have the tools- just tedious and time-consuming as others have said. You can download the TRD or Magnuson instructions to see what it takes. Plan on a a good full day or two.

I bought my Magnuson kit from URD. Its pretty much the same complete kit as the TRD minus the stamp. Save some money and get the kit without the BD tune because there's better tuning options. You can also use the forum discount for 5% off.

    It's worth every penny IMO.

I bought mine from Toyota and had Toyota do the install at around 30k miles. A SC makes just about every performance mod so much more fun and worth it.

This. You can save a few hundred by skipping the Bullydog tuner which has not had great reviews, and get the OEM TRD Supercharger tune flashed at the dealer for around $100.

Just an FYI I don't think the URD is CARB approved (for those who live in those kinds of states...)

You gotta shop around to see what the different dealers charge. I found one to do it for $600. Charged me for 2 days, but it took them three. Which I was ok with, cause if rather have them take their time than rush it.
