I lplug in each one by hand 1 at a time to check function before I box them up. I doubt you have a faulty light, what I’m willing to bet is the contact terminals. They have to sit perfectly in order to line up with the overhead console plug in. Here is a picture for reference. Sometime in shipping, moving the wires around they can get miss aligned

Got it...that worked. It took a number of tries, I think the wires kept sneaking to the middle, like the first picture above. I finally had to put my finger between the red and black wires to force them to stay towards the outside. Thanks much!!

Not common, but once in a while I have a pesky connector that won’t go in straight like that.

So I finally got my map lights. In fairness Meso shipped them very fast, but the security officers in my building and postman had a standoff and we didn’t get mail for 4 days (seriously).

I was so excited to get them in, I went right down to the garage and had them installed in about 15 min, thanks to the helpful user posts in this thread and the really well designed lights. Seriously, as an architect by trade, I have a strong appreciation for well designed products and devices and these lights are very well thought out and crafted. Perfect fit, completely plug and play, and look great in place.

The light is bright, but as long as you are not looking right at it, it’s perfect. It is the ideal replacement for the anemic OEM map lights. Tacomas are aggressively designed for intense use and extreme conditions and these lights are a perfect match. Great product!

Especially when we’re trying to keep our eyes dilated so that we can prepare and get dressed in the dark at 4:30 in the morning and the first thing that happens when you open the door up is you get blinded by White Light. Now only if I could get the dash/radio to go black! that would be awesome! Like it used to be!

(And yes for all of those reading, I know I can always turn the lights off)

but then I wouldn’t be able to do a meso mod!

Well, you can always adjust the brightness of the dash so that it's not as intense right?

Just the center dash, none of the 30 so or more dials /switches & knobs. And the stereo is a pain in the the ass to black out. Not something I want to #uck with @ 4:00 in the morning! In the 2nd gens, it was one dial and done! Now everything is independent.

I had a clip break on my passenger side map light. :annoyed:

It still works but doesn’t stay flush.

Why you think I wanted to do yours first?

480880 is part number for fender liner clips for those that have luck like me.

If you want to replace it with the actual red Toyota clip, the part # is 90467-09240.

You can see it on the following link as No. 3 on the diagram.
    https://parts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/au...v6-gas-engine/body-cat/interior-trim-cab-scat

I broke 2 from having removed my console a half dozen times while installing my auxiliary USB port up there to go to my dash cam. I was able to find it elsewhere though and got a bag of a dozen for under $6 USD.

I got the cheap ones from autozone. @mesojdm should quote that in the initial post so people can order them elsewhere when they buy
