How to disable seat belt chimes

How via cluster? I want to do mine. I wear my belt when I need to but there are times that I don’t want my truck screaming at me for not strapping in.

I don't think it does the seat belt as mentioned but does eliminate the door open ding

You posted that you did this in another thread. Would you mind explaining how you disabled them? Driving me nuts with the push-button start model.

 

I am not sure if it works with the push button starts. But I would take the steering column apart and see if the little piece is there.

Cool, thanks brother! This fuggin things been driving me nuts! Dealership was a flop too.

 

I was just at the dealer and they said that it threw a code for that along with my parking sensors that are unplugged. I don't give a F about the code as long as it don't ding!

Let's say you decide to sell the truck , do you tell the new owner or dealer you disabled a safety device ???????????

 

I would, but i'm usually a lot more honest than most people. Who knows, they may be a truck nut too and want to tweak things.

I also never plan on selling this truck unless the bank or God takes it from me...................

 

Only 2 ways I am losing this truck....

I bought a Carista about a week ago, shut off driver and passenger seat belt warning chimes and bumped up my momentary turn signal flashes to 5 instead of the stock 3.

Anyone near Norwalk, CA area that want to make any changes with my Carista??? I have the free trial for about 3 more weeks!!!

 

Lol wish i wws closer. May have to look into the 'carista` item.

 

It's only $20 bucks on Amazon right now and I can say that it DEFINITELY works on 2018 - even though the Carista website says otherwise.

 

I'll be in the PNW in a week, don't suppose anyone with the Carista/TechStream would mind hooking me up? Dealership wants $60 to disable the seat belt chime.

 

adding on..what if you have a passenger with you and they do not have the seat belts on and you get in a wreck. upon investigation it is discovered you have disable the seat belt warning..law suit time!

 

All this talk about it being unsafe and lawsuit time and such....Like me, I think the majority of people here just want the option to turn the annoying beeping off - you still have a solid red seat belt warning light on on the dash panel. If you don't wear your seat belt when it's needed then you are just a dumb ass.

 

Do you REALLY need an annoying chime to make you require passengers in your vehicle to put on their seat belts? Come on.

 

I ripped out the speaker today. Took out the speedo, opened it and twist. The speedo had dust behind the plastic anyway.

I can work on the truck in the garage now, listening to the radio with the doors open without the annoying beep.

I should have done it on day one.

 

I put on my seat belt. Disables the chime every time.
