One of the places I called said that 255/85r16 is a dying size so maybe there was some truth to that....

I don't think it's dying, it's just a niche market. They don't do production runs of it very often because they don't sell many. If you notice you can basically only get an offroad tread in it.

Discount Tire told me it'd be months before they got any new ST Maxx's in but I got mine off eBay no problem

Anyway hi I've got 255/85/16 Cooper Maxx's and they seem pretty good. Going out to the country this weekend to really find out.

As a like 800 mile review on my DC Extreme Countries in 255/85, they grip better on wet roads than my old Toyo Open Country AT2s. I'm averaging about the same MPG as my Altimax Arctic LTs (after correcting for my odo being off).

They're much louder than my ATs or my Altimax Arctic LTs.

I'm pretty pleased with the purchase. I haven't had time to go wheeling yet though, and I'll never be running them in the snow.

I just got my new set of DC Extreme Country 255/85/16 shoes on my truck today. They look awesome. No rubbing so far on stock everything.

My speedo is off about 3mph around 65 mph. Are you guys correcting via Hypertech or just leave it? Thanks. 3B2F5F61-CFEA-4B5E-9844-97A6341ED957.jpgFE3AB6B6-95A8-41D1-AF90-945110C482A7.jpg

Hi, tons of pages here. I currently run 235/80 r17 st maxx. I get 17.5-18 if I drive nice and keep it under 75mph. Goes down to 14-15 going 85 on the interstate. (Ethanol free). How has your mileage been going to 255’s? I want them bad but, I like getting 250-300 miles out of a tank of gas when I’m in the middle of nowhere. Thanks

Where did you find those? A bunch of local tire shops up here in Alberta, Canada have not been able to find any in the country with no idea of when they’ll be restocked.

Are these really only 49 lbs? I see conflicting info saying 49/50/58/53 on different sites. If they are actually 50 lbs I think I might go this route

I just checked my tracking numbers for each of the tires, and they reported them as 49 lbs.

It does look good.....I’m still torn on these or the KM2’s but the wandering/pulling issues make me hesitant to go with the ST Maxx.
