Audio Solutions 2016-2019 Plug and Play Remote Starters, 3x and cell for AT

Would be sweet if someone could figure out a way to override the truck shutting off when door is open. Owned other cars from 3 different makers and none do this. The truck is already locked so it can't be stolen. And even if they do break it the truck shouldn't shift out of gear without you getting in with the smart key, depressing the break, and pushing the start button.

 

Is there a write up for this installed and operating on a manual transmission? I know when I had my 2nd gen and looked into it you had to do a sequence with your 1st gear and parking break or something then turn it off a certain way so it knew it was automatic but I kinda lacked in reading up on it more I felt as if my 2nd gen was a true work truck where my new 3rd gen I wana make her perfect for both casual and work

 

For 3rd gen you just leave in neutral.

This review is for h-key (keyed ignition) 3rd gen.

I finally installed my remote start after not having had time for a few weeks. It’s pretty much same hardware as the 12volt solutions (although Jeremie released his kit first), and I used their install video as well as Jeremie’s guidance as reference.

Only one wire needed to be cut, and the two ends connected to wires from a harness. Everything other than that was plug&play harnesses.

I’m pretty slow at such stuff, so it took me two hours. Someone else could probably do it in 30 minutes. Even I would do it in 30-45 minutes if I were to do it again.

Turns on with 3 clicks of lock button. Turns off with another 3 clicks of lock button. The remote stays active when truck is remote started, so you can unlock door with the remote. When you open door, the truck turns off. All pretty standard.


I waited nearly 2 years for a DIY remote start for h-key, so thanks @jmeitz for releasing one when no other kits were available.

I wonder how the Fortin Cellular app works, they say it’s no fee, so you must have to use your data from your phone

 

Only works in Canada in a limited area off 900 MHz frequency.
