Finished one side of the ditch tracks for my AC. Not too bad once I loosened some of the bolts and shifted the side curtain air bags out of the way. Only needed a single diaper change.

Its on the list to do. I did this last summer, so it only lasts so long. I am looking for OEM headlights in really good condition.

I have the headliner out so if you're curious about what's in the lid of your AC I can post a pic tomorrow of the area. Just specify what you want in the field of view.

How bad was it to install? Does it just plug and play with the existing wires? Do you need anything else for steering wheel controls? Thanks

Yea my headliner has been out over a month, driving me crazy. Want to be real sure no leaks, and I haven't settled on how many wires I want to run thru the weather tight mount.

I didn't buy that step bit to drill my roof, I just cut me a couple pieces of conduit that left around 3/8 of my bits exposed when I slid the piece of tubing over it. The curtains are close ,but there is some extra clothe on them to. Ask me how I know.

I wasn't going to drill without taking a look and I determined that where I wanted to put screws the air bags were still in the way even if I didnt hit them with the bit. I don't have a heavy duty rivet gun so I just used stainless screws with nuts/washers for all of them(5 each side). Once I'd decided to get them out if the way it was really simple. I left the front two bolts at the windshield. in place and removed the next 6 then loosened the ones holding the charge cylinder and tube and that gave enough play to drill without worry and also get a wrench behind it.150E977B-E09C-4D95-8675-47B81DAFF1BC_zps_462fbaeba8795e3dd70e5c3f8d073f3547fa7ed1.jpg
You can see the front three track screws poking through the ditch channel and the center rail, they were the easy ones, the tricky ones are tucked behind that pink wadly over the half door. That part of the air bag has an integral metal frame that makes the whole thing rigid from the drivers window back. Just ordered some noico so that will go up before the headliner goes back on. Hopefully next weekend.

Ha! That’s the first time I’ve seen someone put a light where the winch goes.
You’re going to love them. When I upgraded from 884s to the 886s it was a night and day difference. It handled the weight soooo much better.
Yep, I love that method. I’ve used it countless times! Here’s a couple pointers I’d add.

    • Mark the alignment cams with a sharpie to get them back in the same area
    • Use a quality floorjack
    • Have a second set of hands to help guide the new shock up through the hole. I’ve tried it before and while it is possible, it’s a huge pain in the ass. I just had my wife help me by slowly pumping the jack handle.

I wouldnt trust one of these. Just seems too unstable.

Its a beautiful day outside so I took advantage to add some new TRD center caps and additional D-Ring tie downs on the bed rail system.
