Mine was 540. It's just how California is. If you look under fee's California charges you 20 dollars abatement fee for not needing a smog. You can't win. Crazy how if your vehicle is new and doesn't need smog California charges a fee for that lol.

You need to do some actual reading what’s required. Not just here but the dmv. It’s a lot more than just throwing on a camper shell.

I looked into it with that go fast shell. I’ve forgotten the details but you need a kitchen and toilet to make it count. In the end it’s not worth it just to ditch the commercial fee.

Since the Feds no longer fund infrastructure, the states have to pick up the tab, assuming you want roads to drive on and bridges that don't collapse.

Here in Maine it's bad, mine was almost $900 the first time I registered my truck. This year it was $668. thankfully it goes down every year for the first 5 years.

Paid my dues last month, and I was late as well because I got lazy. It ended up costing me over $700 ....lesson learned : don't be lazy. Damn you California.

Dude, don’t even get me started on vehicle taxes! Was the appraised value even what you paid for the truck? First year I had my F150 the “appraised” value was a good 5k over what I paid for the truck.... total BS!

Plus the dam sales tax. I don't remember off the top of my head what I paid, but I believe the second year was more than what most are posting on here, and it went down from the first year.

Lol I was thinking the same. Until I think that their local sales, property taxes, school taxes and everything else are probably less than half of what we pay. With the exception of the people in Cali. They get fucked. But I only feel sorry for a smaller percentage of them. Can’t get into the “political” stuff so I won’t go into detail.

That's why I moved from there a long time ago. State has gone in the toilet. Annual renewal in GA is $0.00 for veterans, or you can pay $1.00 if you mail it in. I will ponder that decision over the next weeks.

Im from California but moved to CT a couple years ago. Don't get me started :D

Edit: I do not qualify for the veterans waiver because I was not CT resident when I joined, would have been nice though. However, I do get a small exemption on my home taxes.

Damn California is quickly becoming more and more of a toilet everyday. I was in la and San Diego last week and the stench of piss was literally everywhere I walked. Workers were coming out of businesses to hose it down with bleach but made the smell even worse
