My 2nd gen with 3rd gen wheels

All i want is 265/70/17 ko2s with no rub, and no modifications whatsoever. Its not sounding good so far hearing mixed results.

 

If you do 285’s on those stock trd off roaded 16inch wheels or even the 17 inch” sport wheels, you will not clear the UCA without spacers. You have to get spacers to run 285’s on these stock wheels. If you found some TRD pro wheels you’d be fine without spacers.

 

Do you think I’d still have the same issue with 275 or should I just stick with a nice aggressive 265? I was still thinking about using spacers to help give it a better looking stance

 

Buy quality hub centric spacers like Spidertrax and get whatever tire size your heart desires. Torque the spacers on properly and use whatever thread lock they recommend. Spacers are a great and safe way to get a nice stance as long as you know what you’re doing!

Just got these put on. I'm really happy with how these look.

 

I had this set up also, but tires kept rubbing in turns. I ended up putting 5100s up front with 1” lift and no rubbing since.

I like how it looks so much I’m considering getting a second set for my winter tires.

 

I think the prices are dropping on these wheels, I paid $400 for the set with out TPMS now you can get them for $250 or less.

 

Does anyone know how much either of these rims weigh off hand?

The 17" Sport wheels shown on Kardell31's white truck in your pic average about 26.21 lbs. without the center cap.

Happy to help. If you are looking for light weight the 2nd Gen stock 16" alloys on the TRD OR are about as good as it comes for any OEM at 23.5 lbs. You would have to go to aftermarket to find much lighter.

Funny you mention that. I had those exact rims and swapped them for the 4runner trail rims without thinking about the weight difference, I cannot believe how much my MPG and acceleration has dropped! I am trying to find a set of light rims to switch back to!

 

You ought to try living at a high elevation. All this stuff becomes very noticeable. Weight of the tires + weight of the rims, man I have sometimes asked myself "who stole a bunch of hp?." I now seek out light weight wheels and tires.
