Im going to be buying a new Tacoma soon and am wondering if I should just wait a few months for a 2019 off-road. It should be coming out very soon but all I can find is about the 2019 TRD pro.

Anyone have any intel on the 2019 off-road as far as what if any the differences will be?

The details are minimal at this point, but changes should also be very minimal if any. The Pro will get a snorkel (horribly ugly).

What you should do.... Is wait a few months and buy a 18. That way you get a much better deal when the 19’s are rolling in. Might as well save some money.

Gawd, I hope they dont put a ridiculous snorkel on the Pro. How often are these city boys submerging themselves underwater here?...jc

Already a done deal. It may be an option, but either way it’s coming. It’s even on the new Toyota commercial on TV. People call it a desert breather or intake or something like that. Either way it’s uglier than a goats ass.

I actually like the look of it.... not enough to buy a pro but still. It looks cool!

As for the other 19s, I doubt there will be any changes besides maybe a new color since they just did a major update for 18

I wouldn't call TSS a major update. But yep, likely just a new color.

It's meant to provide dust free clean air to the engine. Not too sure if it's actually even capable under water.

CarPlay on newer headunit is a possibility...Which leads to trim levels and tech package costs.
    Mechanically... most likely zero.
Pro has blacked out exhaust, red TRD on skid, snorkel option, different color option ( some kind of blue ), and JBL which the 2018 did not.

But the Pro buyer will believe and tell you that it DOES AND CAN submerge to - enter unprobable specs here - depth and is the best off roader available you can buy minus military amphibious vehicles.

The more I think about it, I'm sure it's just fine in the water as well. It's probably just a water snorkel with some type of extra dust filter on it.

What’s even better than paying 10,000 or more than I paid for my truck???? Putting an attachment to make it look like it has a damn periscope or is from the show the Snorks!!!

Toyota is probably trying to distance itself from owners who will take their Pros through water crossings when things go wrong.

The snorkel option should also come with a scoop delete. Once the Pro owner explains what the snorkel is for, to an interested member of the public. Their next question will be. Why does it have a hood scoop, it's got that snorkel?

Toyota's been vocal about it's own infotainment being superior. I wouldn't hold my breath for CarPlay in 19.

F the Pro. I don’t want one. I respect that others buy them, but I got my truck for 32,500 and would never spend that much for the measly add ons you get for the money you spend.

Yeah I just re-read press release. Says Entune w/ JBL. My biggest complaint with the tech that comes w/ Tacoma’s is the map and music apps. Terrible.

Oh I could have, but couldn’t justify it. I’d rather spend the extra money on mods, stickers, and hoes!!! JK
