I used that method and the zipper would get caught in the door on occasion or swing against the roof scratching the roof. It works but you have to be vigilant for that, more than once I yelled at my girlfriend for slamming the zipper in the passenger door before I decided to use the mounts.

My Cabrac arrived on Friday and it's the old design. My Toprac is supposed to arrive today, so we'll see what the rails look like!

If anyone has detailed shots of how an RTT sits/mounts well on the Toprac, can you point me that direction? My only concern is fumbling in tight quarters trying to mount it down (and take it off and on when I use it...) I saw that someone permanently mounts two Prinsu rails to the RTT - which is a great idea!) Any other great ideas are appreciated!

    Shipping Happens!

I received my Toprac today. It looks like it got shipped through a war zone. Needless to say, I’m contacting CBI/Prinsu to return this one! ;-0

Yea, with it looking like that I bet it's all marked up before you even use it. My cabrac was packed fairly well. Looks like it was dropped. taped up and dropped again.

Does anyone have experience with a 72" long XL 4-person roof top tent over a double cab with Prinsu rack?

I was hoping to use it but don't have the tent yet. It's a big purchase that I am nervous to make if it won't work well. Thanks

    Not over the bed

On a cabrack? That's a big windbreak but it would work.

I know this is an old post but do you know the height from the roof to the top of the cases? It looks like at least 8-10". I'm trying to figure out if this set up will fit in my garage. Thanks.

I never took an actual measurement, however.
The highest part of rack, at center, was 2" above roof.
    Cases were roughly 5-1/2 tall.

Anyone have other good ideas for wind noise? I have the fairing seal and just did sound deadening on entire roof. Helped a little. Do the T- slot inserts really work?

    Thanks

Do any of you guys have an issue with birds using the rack as a toilet?

Well I measured and it looks like I have 9-10" so a Prinsu rack should fit in my garage with a Plano 42" case. Great, more money to spend!!
