I have yet to test it but it doesn’t look like it would get anywhere close to hitting. I’m far more concerned with the front wheels haha

 

Yeah that's good. I saw someone else trimming their HC bumper for whatever reason... talk about a pita.

 

I’ll have better photos soon of it all finished up haha and yeah, not trying to cut off part of the bumper for no reason

 

After getting the 35's on I decided to do 4 out of the 6 sections of the BDR to test everything out. New bed setup in the back was amazing and everything worked out great. Little bit of rubbing here and there but overall things are good. BDR was incredible and we found some fun offshoot things to check out along the way too.


First day on the trail had a few overgrown areas...pinstripes were added...


Found a random crashed car to flex the suspension on and see how everything was clearing...



















Had a guy in a jeep pass me going the other way and warn me that the road had washed out and it was pretty sketchy. Apparently the road is fully closed but we managed to get through it without any incident. High consequence for failing but wasn't too bad. Great trip overall and the truck did fantastic.

Awesome build. Do you recall the mpg hit you took with the stock rims + 255/85 st and lift? It looked/looks great and im thinking of going the same route

 

I don’t specifically remember but it wasn’t too awful bad with the 255’s. If I remember right it was almost not even a change. Now the 315’s....different story haha

Glad to hear it! I think AC is the best setup. You don't lose the bed space but still have room for stuff behind the seats. Plus they just look good.

 

Thanks for the writeup. Would like to see some pictures of what you did behind the seats! Ever wish you had the DCLB?

 

This is basically the set up I went with. The two toolboxes in the foot area hold recovery gear etc. in them and they can easily slide out the sides with the platform on top. They also hold up that side of the platform. I’ve since cut some hinged lids on the back side to easily access the long storage compartment as well. The usual set up is a nice padded mattress thingy on top for the dog to chill on. On longer trips we’ll put the cooler back there and it’s nice to have a flat surface.

As for the DCLB, I really don’t wish I had one. I love the long bed because I’m tall and sleep back there but the DCLB is a reeeeally long truck. The approach and departure angles are so less with that long of a vehicle and the access cab space does exactly what I need it to. I think the AC just looks good too. Other people have other requirements though so I’d look at your situation and see what you need out of it. If you’re good sacrificing a little departure and approach angle to have more space, go that route. I’m very happy with the setup I have though.
