Can you Connect a BS ML-ACR to a Bus Bar? Wiring Layout Help Needed.

Hi, I am wiring a dual battery into my engine bay. I could really use some advice.
What is the best way to do this in order to reduce the amount of wiring that is needed?

Objective:

• I need to connect the 2 batteries together with the ML-ACR.
• I also need to run a large power cable from the Aux Battery through the drivers side firewall. The wire going through firewall will connect to a fuse box in the cab and one in the bed.

Wiring Plan:


Questions:

• What wire gauge should I use?
• Can I connect the Blue Sea ML-ACR to a
  $41 Blue Sea Systems 2127 250 Amp MaxiBus BusBar with 4 studs
  250 amp Bus Bar or to a
  $20 Blue Sea Systems 2017 POWERPOST Dual Connector 3/8",Black/Red
  Cable Connector Post? Or does it need to be connected directly to the battery?
• Any advice? I am about half way through reading the large "Dual battery" thread.
• Would it be better to connect the winch to Battery 1?

Edit:
250 amp bus bar would not be enough for the self jump start scenario.
I am thinking this 600 amp bus bar would be though.

And on the subject of the self jump:
If I wire it like the diagram, am I putting my auxiliary fuse boxes at risk since they would be connected to the Bus Bar?

 

Blue Sea offers the following wiring diagram that details how to connect the batteries to the ML-ACR and accessories. This is what I recommend.



I would not use busbars between the batteries and the ACR. Instead, if you feel you need a busbar, then I would run a separate cable from the aux battery to the busbar and then branch out from there.

Definitely connect your winch to your starter battery!

 

I appreciate your input. Essentially, I was just trying to figure out an alternative setup that would allow me to run less wire.
I am know thinking any deviation from the normal setup is just asking for issues.

Actually, it looks like just one more large power wire.

 

I think you wound be fine connecting them at a bus bar. I’d make sure that the wire to the ml-acr and the battery be touching, then bolted to the busbar. That way it’s most possible contact.
