3rd Gen Quicksand thread

I think I have the perfect stance that I’m looking for with the 285’s but I drive a lot for work and mpg’s are definetly a factor and the KO2’s are heavy...I’m going to test them out for a couple of weeks and see but more than likely the 285’s are staying....The wife’s rooting for the 285’s

 

What size wheels and tires? Any lift?

 

265/75/16 BFG on Ray 10, no lift.

 

I wish I have a sand taco every time I see those at Wal-Mart.. now they have 20oz tumbler as well as 24oz water bottle.. their colors do discontinue so cheap I may have to get them while they're still in stock.

 

So glad I found this thread. Love this truck and this color. The moment I saw it I knew it was the color I wanted. Problem is I'm never happy. I always see another mod or another truck that has something I want on it. My wallet can't take anymore.

 

I’ve been looking at doing something similar to this for my rack, what all did you use if you don’t mind me asking.

 

Nice. You mind if I ask for the measurement on how many inches from the roof are the front runners? Are those the ver. 2’s.

 

I used some 2.5”in PVC pipe to make the holders for the bottoms of the rods.
For the tops I bought a Rapala rod holder kit (the spring loaded one so it holds the rods taught)

For the two bases I used some 3”x1” aluminum I had laying around

I attached the pvc to the aluminum with pop rivets and some paracord, I screwed the rapala holder to the aluminum.
I painted every black and used some hose clamps to attach them to the factory cross bars. I put some rubber pipe insulation between the holder and the cross bars to prevent hem from scratching

 

Finally got to get her a little dirty.

Traded in my black ‘15 TRD OR because I wanted the MT. Wasnt crazy about the color but it grew on me and Ive gotten more compliments about this truck in the month I’ve had it than the 3 years I had my black one

 

Great looking truck! Quicksand is my favorite color also.
