I would prefer to be west of DC, but I'm working in Springfield and get 12mpg so I'd rather not have a long commute. I'm also waiting to see what the judge says about the divorce... I'm hoping it doesn't cost me $3000 per month for the next 2 years... which is entirely possible.

 

Ouch you will be looking for a roomie with those payments.....but really you need to be west of town if possible. I work in DC and live in Ashburn the drive is not horrible but is a pain sometimes.

 

Its not a bad area to be especially since you will be working in the area. Places are actually somewhat affordable and there are a shit ton of places to rent, apartments can be hit or miss, but militarybyowner.com and owners renting their property are plentiful. 22315 22310 22153 good places to look

 

I'm hoping the judge is reasonable and drops it down to the $700 for 18 months that we proposed.
I plan on getting a commuter, nothing crazy but maybe a Countryman, Outback, or 2019 Rav4... slightly less painful when I fill up. The Cruiser would be my toy.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be getting my first big boy paycheck on the 20th. I should be able to move out shortly after that. I found some apartments that look decent (Lerner Square Springfield) but I may just suck it up and commute a little to be away from the congestion.

I will talk to a buddy of mine he has a unit above a garage ( East Falls church) he was looking for someone to fill it,it’s about 625 sq ft one huge room with a small kitchen ( 24 inch stove/oven no dishwasher and a 16 cube fridge) and a open bathroom with pedestal sink toilet and stand up shower only. Cool place for a sin bin.....

That might be a good option... any idea what the parking is like? I plan on eventually have 2 rides.
