It says mo-so-co.com I looked it up and they make car/OBDII cables and extensions

I mean it wasn't there when I flashed my truck and I don't remember anyone else being in my truck. And shhh, I don't want a stick in my daily :)

Don't know what it's plugged into, it's plugged into an OBDII connector that's directly next to the factory wire harness coming through the fire wall. Too many wires to track where that connector leads to

Maybe Toyota is collecting remote telemetry on your tuned rig! Did you have it in for service recently? They know... you bet their ass they know! :tinfoilhat:. Lol, follow that cable!

    JK, but damn.

Me too, but it depends on how much mpg will be sacrificed. 1 or 2 wouldn't bother me too much I suppose. Wait and see I guess :goingcrazy:

So another thing while I'm at it... that dangerous as hell bog when you get into the gas off the line has been eliminated. But, I still wonder what's going on when you're just above idle under load - like when you're on a hill and you've just let the clutch out (not using toe-heel or e-brake). If it's not really steep you can let the clutch out till it grabs and shift over to the gas, get the truck moving and then give it more throttle. In this scenario the engine will very very slowly give you more torque, and then all of a sudden a bunch more. I know it sounds like the bog I mentioned before, but this is just off idle under load. I also know that most engines outside of diesels won't do much at this rpm.. but 1st gear is quite low and so are the M/T axle ratios. It seems artificial to me...

Sorry if these questions have been answered - I read the entire automatic thread and about 60 pages of this one and didn't see the answer.

I have a 2018 Off-Road automatic. I look at the website and see options for 2016-17 TRD Auto - Crawl Control and 2018 Cruise Control. If I choose the 2016-17 version will that screw up the 2018 safety systems? If I choose the 2018 automatic version will that screw up Crawl Control?

Also - there used to constantly be a back order for the tune but now it looks like it is consistently available but you have to buy the cable through a third party. Was the cable the cause of the back-order? Can the third party keep up with the demand?

    Thanks for your help.

I ordered my cable on Thursday and it was sitting at my door Friday afternoon and I’m in Canada! Seems like the cable is readily available.

Choose the one that’s for your vehicle. The tune has no affect on the safety systems and crawl control.

Yes that and the dongles for identification. Now you only need the cable. Not sure about tatrix and if they can keep up. But go for it!

1.05 should totally be called 2.0. It sounds like it’s jot even in the same playing field and it just sounds more serious

So from reading. The last few pages

1.4 has 2 problems that scare me

    1. Power issue in HOT weather.
    2. Engine power loss when trying to pass someone on the highway...

Is there a fix for these?

Also. With all the new perameters that are accessed with 1.5. will the truck now be able to compensate for a batch of bad fuel?

Say i have a 91 tune loaded, and im 1,000 miles from home on vacation. And get a bad load of fuel....... Is there now enough adjustments on the knock table to retard it to safe levels?

P.s. scored a tactrix 2.0 on Craigslist for $50 this weekend. Tunes are next.

I live in south louisiana where its always hot. Zero problems.

Also, never had engine power loss problems.

I’ve had the tune since it came out. Never had an issue when hot and I live in South Texas where it’s above 90 degrees 9 out of 12 months. As for the highway it’s wicked fast in ect power mode. I pass anyone I want anytime I want.

    1. I live in Florida and pulled a 5500lb trailer in 95* weather with no problems and I have no issues with power when not towing.
    2. The engine shutting down is not from the tune. It’s part of the traction control.

The tune is 100% better than stock.

You've read a post out of context entirely.

There are NO dangerous issues with 1.04 at all.
My issue with passing was a complete one off in the 5k miles I've put on it.

The truck will pull timing if it needs to, that's what engines do, you'll never have an issue.

Question guys: when I flash the tune do I connect to the truck, run the p5 flash, turn the truck on,flash it,select the tune (double click),let the tune install, wait for successful. Is that the correct sequence?
    Thanks
I’m getting screwed up somewhere.Trying to change from 87 to 91 tune
