New carb will be here Tuesday. I saw Jack's pop up when I searched, but I found the carb on Amazon.

Well.
With no research I can only comment on my side of things.

If you have someone else flash that computer and something goes wrong down the road
Or there is a update for trans, emissions etc.
How you think that would work with a Toyota tech trying to cypher things on a non standard
Set of readings.
Or what would happen if trying to update the ecu and the factory scan tool refuses to let you do it.
Your under warranty.... a brand new truck..
I don’t know but before I did that I would be asking who is providing it a bunch of questions..

Btw. Dropping my friend off at the shop this week to get that rack fixed. I've already given him an idea of what he'll be looking at.

 

I have no problem with people modding their truck.

Just do it after the warr runs out so I don’t have to work on it or if I do I’m sure as hell gonna get paid for every second I’m on it.

The one thing that is missing on this forum is "If you modify your truck, you become your own warranty station". This was regularly noted on the Cummins site I used to frequent.

 

Thanks so much for the input! I appreciate it. You guys just kind of confirmed my thoughts. I agree that messing with the computer doesn’t seem like a good idea especially if it messes with the warranty. I just wanted to reach out to make sure these “that doesn’t seem to be something I want to mess with” vibes I was having were valid. I never thought about it from the viewpoint of the guys who work on them so @Tacoma Mike thanks for enlightening me. That must really suck!
