It's an OPTION not standard. Would be insane to be standard!

The dust air breather doesn't come standard on all 2019 pros. That would be dumb

So far just changed out the grille. My OR grille was horrible looking. I have blacked out the badges (painted them flat black) and installed the flat black inlays in the tailgate lettering.

I am waiting to do any lift or wheels because the truck is still fairly new, but like I said before when I do mod it will be function of aesthetics. So I will go with a small but functional Bilstein set up with wheels and tires that are bigger and wider, but able to fit with the lift with no rubbing. I don’t plan on doing extreme off roading, but the set up should get me anywhere needed to 4 wheel some badass places and to have a blast.

If I came in to see the 2018 Pro and it had a snorkel that was stock and wasn’t ARB, I would turn around and drive the hell out.

Cause it’s my truck and I didn’t want to buy a Pro....

Plus, my truck came with a much shittier grille than your truck. Your stock grille sucks but not as bad as my 17 grille did.

Yeah the OR grill is universally hated!
You saved yourself some money buying the M/T too.

I’m hoping to do similar in the future. Not trying to rock crawl, but would like a lot more clearance. Trying to do the research and do it on my own with help with friends. I have a long way to go. Not doing any of that until 2020 until I own the truck.

I sold my TRD Pro wheels and tires right off the bat while interest was there. They easily paid for some SCS Ray 10s and a couple tires.

Verdict on this thread so far....
2019 Tacoma OR will be the same ....
But with a ninja driver, “Untameable” label, and a higher price tag.

I disagree. I think the standard grills look nice. I also think the pro grill looks good however I do find it a bit gimmicky.

The “purpose” of the Desert Air Intake ‘snorkel’ is to draw air from above the dust cloud coming off the truck in front of you. Although the Toyota OEM DAI looks like balls, it actually makes sense to have it higher up. The ARB snorkel will be drawing in more of the dust coming up over the hood.

FYI: Toyota does not offer a snorkel for water crossings, even on the beloved LC 70 series. The factory “snorkel” on that model is also a DAI and needs additional sealing of the air box to make river crossings etc. It’s purpose on the Land Cruiser 70s is the same: keep as much dust out of the air box as possible when rolling around an open pit mine, or when launching an ISIS offensive in Lybia.

In this case I think we can assume that Toyota engineers, being mostly smart dudes, actually did some wind tunnel tests and optimized the location of the intake for the Tacoma. Like many ‘toyotaisms’, they are putting something in the optimal, most effective location, and really don’t care if you like the look of it or not, even if the DAI is also highly stylized.

Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
All this snorkel talk and I’m here just waiting on touch to enter smart entry handles on both sides of the F-in truck and nicer headlights for the projectors. I mean who does that! Smart entry on just the drivers door? Really? And yellow halogens inside projector housings?!?!? I mean cmon the Prius and corollas are less expensive vehicles and have all that shit so price point shouldn’t be the argument. I had to do all those said things myself for the smart entry passenger door and nicer temps for the projectors...I’m driving a 2019 stuck in a 2018 body lol...

What did you swap out halogens with?
And how did you solve touch entry on passenger side?

Some real deal stock A/T tires would make a lot more sense for OR and Pro too!
