Currently 10 993’s less than $50k. Search the 986 Caymans as well. Probably tons of those less than $30k.

I’ll bite. Been working up to actually spending the money for one of these. Traded in the Macan commuter (wonderful CUV) for this. Last of the Cayman NA flat-sixes. 2015 GTS with a manual. As far as I’m concerned, it makes music when I use the skinny pedal.

PS, I plan on keeping it until the left leg says ‘no more’.

<edit>. I should caveat my claim of ‘last of the sixes’. Rumor has it the new 718 GT4 will source a 4L six from the 911 stable. But that’s rarified air for me....$100k+ for a play vehicle is a bit much for my lifestyle.

I REALLY wanted to like the new cayman but it now only comes with the 4-cylinder. It was quick but after having my V8 mustang with a catback, I just couldn't seem to accept the sound of the engine. I may just have to look CPO for a GTS.

My obnoxiously loud play-thing. Both exhaust and stereo.

The sound of the 4 cylinder never bothered me. Very WRX’ish. But, it’s not a flat six and that’s that. I will admit that the sport exhaust helps the 4 cylinder. And, the 718 base is nearly as fast as my GTS. Dollar for dollar, the 718 is a better buy. But I was purchasing to get a piece of the heyday.... the last gasp of the normally aspirated engines.

But if you want to dream, rumor has it that a 718 GT4 is going to be powered by a 4L flat six from the 911 GT3. This of course was outside my budget so no way was I going to wait on it. If you can get on the list, odds are it’ll hold value or appreciate short term.

I checked my usual websites and this one popped up locally. I wasn’t quite ready to purchase, but it was essentially exactly what I was looking for so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Couldn’t be happier. To quote Ferris: “...If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up”.

Everybody has their dream manufacturer/car. Porsche has always been mine. My ‘85 911 cabriolet 3.2L with a whopping ~200HP was a freaking blast to drive. Even 15 years old it was that much fun. This one would spank it nine ways to Sunday on any given surface. But if you like a true rear engine and air cooled, that one was hard to beat.

The 718 base is only 0.1 seconds slower 0-60 in the manual. It’s probably faster on the track due to the torque of the turbos. The 718S is definitely faster all around. But the 981 has just a bit more soul, which is why I bought it.

The popular 993’s are going to typically be RWD, coupe and manual transmission. Those usually go for over 50k unless they’ve been wrecked or trashed. Any lack of one of those options starts to bring down the price.Boxsters and Caymans are nice cars though.

Yep, there’s a method to the pricing madness on 993’s. You can find them over $200k as well.

I like the larger intakes on the newer Cayman and Boxster. Beautiful car. Great buy. You get a lot of extra stuff thrown in with the GTS. Enjoy.

    I saw 3 964’s and a gt2 turbo 993. All over 500k$. Granted the 964’s were RS’s.

Thought it was a rebel. Looks nice. Contemplating switching from sport bike to cruiser so getting ideas.

How do you like the rebel? I tried one out and it just didn't feel right to me, so I bought this one instead.
